JP1 Remotes

I've had to use pauses with my system before in my extended 2117 remote to make some things work. Now I am setting up a 6012 and have the same problems and want to add pauses. When I add a pause to a macro the remote "locks up" and the LED flashes at about two times a second. I have even tried just assigning a pause to a key. When I press the key I get the same results. I suppose I am missing something obvious but I've gone over it several times and it eludes me. Thanks.

If you post your IR files to the jp1 diagnositics folder and a link to it here we can get a look at it for you.

I have uploaded my IR file to the diagnostics area. It is called 6012.IR.

I have put a key move for the pause on the TV/Menu button. When the menu button is pushed the remote locks up and you have to remove the batteries to correct it. I get the same results when I use the keymove in a macro.

Actually, it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. $80 is an extremely high number for the 6012 pause. What it is doing is blinking the LED 128 times (hex 80 = 128 decimal). Since the 6012 blinks slow it will just take forever to finish 128 blinks. So, in the 6012 I would start with about hex 02 and go up from there if needed.

On the 2116/2117 it needs a high number since it does not use the LED for the pause and just uses an internal "delay" routine that is much faster than the blink routine. In other words hex 01 on the 6012 is about .076 seconds and on the 2116 it is about .0076 seconds or something like that.

I guess I should have read it closer. It does say that it is in units of 0.4 seconds. I kind of assumed it would work like the 2117. I didn't know it used the LED blink though. That kind of threw me. Maybe tomorrow I'll get a chance to play around with it. Thanks again.
