Is Device Combiner working in RemoteMaster 0.96a?

I'm having problems using Device Combiner in RM. Before I get any more frustrated I'd like to comform it is operational. The release notes state that it is not yet functional (old notes?) but others have stated that it is functional in v0.96a. I'm trying to increase the duration of the PVR 508 discrete power off and on signals so I can use them in an extended remote macro. When I select the Device Combiner protocol it wipes out all of the key functions (makes all of the EFCs 018 and the OBCs/HEXs 0). Is this how it is supposed to work?

To the best of my knowledge Device Combiner works correctly in v0.96a.

To do what you want, start a new device upgrade (File -> New ), then make sure you choose your remote, then choose Device Combiner for the protocol. Now go to the "Device Combiner" tab and press the "Import" button. Choose the device upgrade file that contains the Dish PVR 508 functions you want to increase duration for. I did this by selecting the file "DishNetwork PVR 508 Upgrade.rmdu", which I created from the KM file DishPVR 508 upgrade for RCU810-ID6.txt
Then select the functions that you want to import from the list. In this case the functions were "Power Off" and "Power On".

Now go to the "Functions" tab. If desired, delete the functions that don't have any EFC or Hex command defined. Change the "Duration" field to the desired value. I used 3.

Now go to the "Buttons" tab and assign the functions to the desired buttons. I assigned them to Phantom1 and Phantom2, on the assumption you were only going to use them in a macro.

You can get the RM file I generated at discrete power for Dish PVR 508 with duration.rmdu

Thanks for your help

I think I understand now. I create an upgrade discrete on/off protocol to use in addition to my existing PVR 508 upgrade. I was trying to make a replacement upgrade protocol that had increased durations for the discrete on/off. I'll try it out this weekend.
Thanks

Thanks!
