Hi,
Just got my 8811 (thanks rob). Couldn't find an upgrade for my ARCAM DV88+. But found this link which is supposed to be the remote code for the DVD
http://www.arcam.co.uk/diva/cinema/dv88rc2.html
I tried to punch in the codes and load on them onto the 8811 but it didn't work. Do I have enough info to programme the upgrade?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure, but I think that page is saying that this DVD player uses RC5 protocol, device 25. It list the OBC values (in the "Dec" column) so you could easily create an upgrade with KM or RM.
Edit: I found a CCF file for this, so I'm no longer guessing. It IS RC5 protocol, device 25. That file you linked gives many more OBC values than are in that CCF, but I checked a few of those that both specify and they match.

Hey Terence,
If you still have the Arcam remote, you could have figured out the codes without the aid of that web site, using the procedure outlined here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/help
I mention this because there's bound to be a few other UK devices that you will need upgrades for.
I have gone ahead and created an upgrade for the Arcam for you, here's the file:
Arcam_DV88_DVD_player.txt. Try it out and let us know if it works.
John, before you found the CCF file, how did you guess that this device used the RC-5 protocol?

Terence,
I hope you know the basics of opening an upgrade in KM or RM and trasfering it to IR.
Also, be sure to look on the buttons tab of the upgrade Rob created. Rob assigned only 30 of the 45 functions to buttons. That's all that can be in a DVD type upgrade without KeyMoves. But you can assign more buttons and KM will use KeyMoves. (When using any upgrade made by someone else) you should review which functions are assigned to which buttons and decide if that's the way you prefer your remote set up.

Rob,
Maybe in the back of my mind I remembered Arcam DVD was RC5:25. (I found that CCF in my collection of CCF files that I have previously examined). At the time, I thought I was going on:
1) Manufacturers who think that just giving you the "system code" and command numbers is enough to spec an IR system are most often using RC5. (Remember, what we call "device number" may be called "address" or "custom code" or "system code" etc. and not randomly. You can improve your guess at protocol based on what they call the device number).
2) I did remember that several DVDs (other brands) use RC5:25 (surprisingly none of them had JP1 upgrades).
Brilliant!
