JP1 Remotes

Hi all,

I ordered a OARUSB04G to use with my newly pieced together home theater setup. I have downloaded RM-IR and the extender for the OARUSB04G. I'm planning to load the remote settings using RM and the upgrade files on this forum. I was able to find RMDU files for my receiver (Denon AVR-2807) and BluRay player (Panasonic DMP-BD87), but I could not find a device upgrade for the TV, an LG 42LM3400.

9. Partially working setup code? Haven't received the remote yet (it's being shipped), and I haven't seen any setup codes from what I could find online.
10. Learning remote question? Yes, it's a learning remote. My question is regarding what's the best RMDU to use for this particular TV. The LG 65LM6200 65" 3D LED TV file seems the closest, but I want to check with a more informed audience before trying to load it.
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes, my remote didn't show up on the list

I assume it's mostly straightforward to load the RMDU's to the remote if I follow the directions given with the extender? If this plan is misguided for a new remote, I'd appreciate your advice on a better way to get the remote working with the equipment mentioned above.

The correct answer to question 5 is yes, as the OARUSB04G comes with its own USB cable.

There are many LG TV files in the file section, most of which use the same code (NEC1 dev 4), so my guess is that any one of them will work for you too. The buttons may vary from set to set though.

The point of the learning question is that, if you have a learning remote and a JP1 cable, you have the tools that you need to determine what protocol/device code your device uses and what codes are on each button, so you have the tools to build an upgrade from scratch if needed. In your case, if you learned 1 or 2 buttons, you would be able to confirm if your set uses the standard NEC1 dev 4 codeset, and if the upgrade that you select is missing some buttons, you have the tools to find the codes for those missing buttons and add them to the upgrade.

When you're done, and you have an upgrade that perfectly matches your TV, please upload it to the file section.
