Problem with 0864 Sony Code

I have a URC-6131m (unextended), and am using RM 0.96a, IR 4.02, and the latest RDF. For some reason, the 0864 code is not working with this device - not even getting a power on command.
Oh yeah, I'm trying to control a Sony SLV-D100, which I believe is the first DVD/VCR combo from Sony.
Do I have to use the 6131 extender? Or is there something else going on here (maybe a bug in RM)? Different code? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
TIA,
Kelvin

The DVD/0864 code is not built into the URC-6131, so you would have to add an upgrade to this remote to make it work. If you found an upgrade in the file section and are trying to use it, please post a link to the file that you are using. Plus, as it's probably due to a mistake on your part, you should post your IR.exe file in the Diagnosis Area so one of us can check it.
Plus, PLEASE post a link to the file once it's there, and PLEASE read the sticky thread about posting links to the Yahoo files.
Yes, I did add it as upgrade...

Thanks for your reply and advice. I will post the file shortly.
I have been reading all the FAQs and documents (sometimes several times over so they sink in), so that I only ask questions that may benefit others in addition to myself.
Bottom line - I added the 0864 code as a device upgrade, but still couldn't get it to work. If anyone can offer advice once I post the IR.exe file in diagnostics section, I would be mightily appreciative.

Try this upgrade. Paste it into IR and then assign it to the DVD button. I don't have the device but this looks like it does what it should.
- Upgrade code 0 = 27 48 (DVD/1864)
de 09 3e fe f9 58 ca 00
08 88 a8 58 98 d8 38 18 b8 54 5a c4 24 42 c2 46
86 b2
END

Nils,
Thanks a million! I haven't tested everything, but this code certainly powers the unit and plays DVDs. Can you tell me what you did, and if it is possible to import this code into RM so that I can further customize it there?
And if the answers to these questions are already in a posted document, then please tell me which one, so that I don't waste any more of your time than I already have. Thanks!!

I uploaded it to the device codes DVD section of jp1. I just clugged it together from other upgrades that looked like they might work and converted it to RM.
Here is a link:

After seeing Nils' upgrade and looking at your IR file, it appears you didn't enter any Device Code information, as the Fixed Data in your file is "00 00 00", while Nils came up with "58 CA 00". Where did you get the details to build the upgrade with?

I was going to ask you what file you were looking at as I was still waiting for Kelvin to post a message saying the file was loaded, but I figured I'd go look anyway and low & behold, there it is:
6131 RM Baseline.txt
Mark's right, you must have forgotten to enter the device code data.

Thanks to you all for your assistance.
Rob, you are right. I did indeed not enter any device code information. A mistake I won't make again. The upgrade code in its current state still needs a lot of work for this particular remote, since many functions still don't work for some reason, although many of the basics do.
I hope to pay back the community by creating what I think are fairly comprehensive upgrade codes for the 6131 for the devices I have here at home and posting them in the appropriate folders. Don't hold your breath, though, since I intend to figure it out by brute force to the greatest extent possible. Thanks again.

That's good to hear. If you have some devices that are not already covered by upgrades in our folders, please load the upgrade file as soon as you have it available. Even if you then go on to find more functions by brute force, you can always replace the file at a later date.
It's my experience that people who put off loading the upgrade file until they have the time to check for every possible code, usually end up forgetting and never loading the file at all.
