If you take a function that is on what I will call remote "A"and learn that function into another remote I will call remote "B", and then you take remote "B" and learn the function you just learned into remote "B" and learn that function into remote "C" from remote "B", and then learn the function that is now on remote "C" and learn it into remote "D" from remote "C", can the function become damaged and less than it originally was on remote "A"? It goes without saying that the batteries are good in all the remotes, and the learning process is executed correctly.

Thanks for the answer.

Short answer: absolutely.

Long answer, think of the learning process as being similar to using an analog tape recorder, then ask yourself how would that process work if you recorded a CD to a cassette tape, then copied the tape to another tape, etc. How good would the 4th or 5th generation copy be?

That's why we just like to use learning to get the raw codes, then we use those codes to build upgrades, which means we're using an original copy each time, like going back to the CD in the above analogy.
