This is just an FYI for folks using these things. I've been using them for years now, starting with the 15-1995. I first found that pointing them away from the devices I wanted to control so that the signal was bouncing off the far wall and back to my devices was a pretty good solution--although never as reliable as the R-S Pyramids. Pointing them directly at my devices--even from across the room never seemed to work.
Since buying the 15-2117--which uses the same command center as the 15-1995--I wound up experimenting by having 2 command centers in the same room. That has turned out to be awesome. It took a little placement so that the command centers weren't constantly blinking at each other but now a button press of my 2117 from anywhere in my home territory is pretty much guaranteed to control the device intended.
Maybe it's just because they're newer than my (very well used) 1995's but it sure seems like the 2117 broadcast a much stronger signal. |
