1. Device: Robot Vacuum Cleaner M-788
2. Type of device: Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
3. Year: 2012 (?)
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-8811/8910
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? No
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? n/a
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? Yes (Rank Arena (see below) only lists TV/Video devices)

NOTE:
I can't tell the brand by the stickers on the device. They only show the model number M-788. However, Google tells me that it is possibly Xrobot Robotic M-788 or Rank Arena M-788.
Even the online User Manual for it doesn't state the brand.
I am assuming it is a generic model, manufactured by different companies. Not sure how they sort out the copyright issues though...

Anyway if anyone has that model at home and can learn the Remote signals or knows where to get the codes (Harmony DB ?), I'd appreciate that.

Thanks.

It has been my experience that a lot of specialty home automation, like fans and draperies use the same protocol for multiple manufacturers.
Did you try the other vacuum upgrade on the off chance that it might work? https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... ile_id=237.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion, Vicky, but... no cigar - just tried Roomba upgrade, and it didn't work on my M-788.

Any other ideas are welcome... thanks.

Well I couldn't find a listing for any vacuum's in the harmony database, so I'm at a loss.

Your willingness to help, Vicky, is of much greater value than the upgrade itself... no kidding.

I appreciate it very much, and will keep looking for solution - maybe someone's got such device at home and will be kind enough to learn and share the remote codes.
