I would like to use my old Radio Shack 15-2117 to learn a command code from another remote, extract that code from the RS remote, and send it to the developers of a smart phone app (Smart Remote by Color Tiger) so that they can incorporate the command into their Android app.
The problem is, it has been over 10 years since I fooled around with this stuff. I have the RS remote, the JP1 interface, and a very old laptop that has a parallel port. I no longer have any of the JP1 software I used to have, but I assume I can find that again here.
Can anyone help me with a quick road map to accomplish this limited task? I will review the various help files on this site, but I really don't want to create a whole new remote; I just want that one code, and I've forgotten most of what I used to know about this process.
Thanks. |
