code for Qook (KT) NA1100 set top box (South Korea)

Post by ParkingPark »

I just brought over a new Slingbox M1 to South Korea. My cable provider is Olleh which I believe is owned by KT. Everything works except the remote control (I've tried the 3 default remote codes they have for older KT set top boxes on the slingbox, but none work). The set top box I have with KT/Olleh shows model number as NA1100 with something under the main barcode with STPB - 9174396 - 453727. I was hoping to have this working so my wife could keep up with her soap operas when we go to the U.S. Any help?

Afraid I cannot find KT or Olleh as manufacturers in the Logitech Harmony IR Database where I get the codes.

If I get the Logitech Harmony smart remote and program the KT set top box in that ... could I somehow send that to you and it would allow the slingbox to control my set top box? I don't mind getting that remote if it would help make the slingbox work.

Yes, but do it on my test account not yours. I have a 659, a 650 and a 'One', and they use the standalone Desktop software, unlike the Ultimate or Touch, which use a web-based system. My details are

Name: slingboxes
Password: password

I'm actually flying back to the U.S. on Friday and will take along the KT set top box remote with me. Hopefully on Sat/Sun will pick up a Logitech remote at Best Buy there. One thing I'm not clear on ... should I get the 650 or Ultimate/Touch? Which would make it is easier (desktop software vs online)? I was planning on getting a universal remote for apartment in the U.S. so don't mind picking up either remote. thanks.

The 650 will be fine. It's a good one. I would use E-Bay, only $30-$40.

Hello, I bought the Harmony 650 remote and also brought along the KT cable box remote with me. I installed the MyHarmony desktop software on my macbook for the Harmony 650 remote. The software asked for me to make an account with an email & password, so I made a new account. I added the unknown KT cable box remote for that new account as the software asked me to click some buttons on the KT remote (Power, 1, channel up) to learn its functions.

Now what's the next step? Also the test account you mentioned Name: slingboxes / Password: password ... what is the url for that? Thanks!

OK, what you should have done was use my account, not create a new one. So either do the same procedure on my account, or tell me the logon details for the account you created so I can access it.

I sent you PM with my account details. The software I have for myharmony wanted an email address and password, while you listed a username/password which the software did not accept .. hence I made a new account. Thanks.

That is because you are using the web-based software when I specifically told you to use the standalone desktop software.

Luckily the 650 is the one remote that Logitech produce that is compatible with both methods. So I was able to analyse the signals.

Here's the remote: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=12746

Any good ?

Ok, that explains it (I installed web-based software rather than desktop software). And YES! It does work. Thanks again for your help! Pretty darn amazing.
