Follow Up - Macro Question

If macros are not device specific (unless creating a DSM bound to a key move), then does that mean if I assign a macro to a button (for example the '1' key), then regardless of what device is active that macro will always execute when pressing the '1' key.

Yes.
However, unless the macro actually changes the active device, it can produce different results for different devices.
Let's say that the macro on the '1' button is play,ffwd,ffwd,ffwd,stop
In TV and CABLE modes, the play, ffwd, and stop keys might not be active, so nothing would happen. In VCR, DVD, and CD modes, all these keys might be active and something would actually happen.
