Problem with Blaupunkt protocol

So I got two Locatel (Hotel TV) remotes and I'm trying to get them to work with Slingbox. Unfortunately it seems that Slingbox has some problems with this protocol. Testing on EU SOLO (RV), the 1st remote with Device: 3 and OBC: 26 actually sends Device: 1 and OBC: 90 command. US PRO-HD is sending some empty IR commands that are not recognized by IRWidget at all.

Protocol: Blaupunkt, sometimes recognized as Blaupunkt{body} or Blaupunkt{prefix}
1st remote (2011): Device 3
IRP for OBC: 26 - {33.6k,521,msb}<1,-1|1,-5>(A:10,1,-20.8m){A=$200}

Code: Select all

http://primetv.ayz.pl/AN_S.rmdu
2nd remote (2012): Device: 0
IRP for OBC: 26 - {36.0k,527,msb}<1,-1|1,-5>(A:10,1,-19.8m){A=$200}

Code: Select all

http://primetv.ayz.pl/AN.rmdu
LIRC output: http://primetv.ayz.pl/C2012.cf
Any help appreciated.

I would have looked at this a lot earlier if you had made it easier, ie posted it to our diagnosis section..

I did take a look, and I don't see any functions assigned to the buttons tab. So that is your first mistake.

If you need further help I suggest posting the Widget ICT file also.

Sorry for the wrong section.

I've updated the RMDU files. The first one had only one button assigned "Menu". That's the only button I need from there.

As of now I can't post ICT file. My 4-year old IRWidget just stopped working. Right now I only have IRToy. I was able to read the Device: 0 remote with LIRC: http://primetv.ayz.pl/C2012.cf

Okay, I checked this out. I'm getting the same screwy results with a
Comcast DVR URC-1067Bx3 JP1.3

There is something wrong with the JP1 tools. The Blaupunkt protocol is not producing Blaupunkt signals. I tried this from both KM and RM. Neither is producing a usable upgrade that will shoot the correct protocol.

I'm hoping that someone else will have time for this. I'm not going to have the time to really work on this until my house guests leave next week.

This subject has come up before. I'm not sure what is going on.

Please capture the original remote(s) using IrScrutinizer and IRToy. I want to compare those signals to the ones sent by the 00A5 executor.

3FG, IrScrutinizer is very unstable on my system (WIN7 64bit). IRWidget is working again (I don't know for how long). I was able to read both remotes with IRScope and save the results:

http://primetv.ayz.pl/rc/AN.ict
http://primetv.ayz.pl/rc/AN.txt

http://primetv.ayz.pl/rc/AN_S.ict
http://primetv.ayz.pl/rc/AN_S.txt

This will be enough?

Well, I'm not sure this is going to resolve your problem with getting the Slingbox to work, but here is a corrected protocols.ini entry for Blaupunkt.

Code: Select all

[Blaupunkt]
PID=00 A5
CmdParms=OBC:6=0
CmdTranslator=Translator(lsb,0,6,1)
DevParms=Device Code:3=0,Freq=0:30.3KHz|36.5KHz, Duration After Prefix=0:Normal|Long
DeviceTranslator=Translator(lsb,0,3,0) Translator(1,1,6) Translator(2,1,7)
FixedData=00
DefaultCmd=80
Notes=DecodeIR (as of 2.44 and earlier) incorrectly decodes Blaupunkt with 2 bits for the Device number, and 7 bits for the OBC. Actually it should be 3bits for Device and 6 bits for OBC. To enter decodes here, if the decoded OBCs are greater than 63, add 4 to the decoded Devijce number

This situation is confusing because by design DecodeIR divides the 9 bits of variable IR signal as 2 bits of device, and 7 bits of OBC. The actual protocol is 3 bits of Device and 6 bits of OBC. This matters because the UEI 00A5 executor is written for 3 bits of device.

A decode of Device 1, OBC 90 should actually be decoded as device 3, OBC 26. So I think your Slingbox is sending the command you're asking for.

Blaupunkt is an odd IR protocol. It starts with a burst of 10 ones ( 1111111111). This is followed by a 1, 6 bits of OBC, and 3 bits of device, repeated as long as the button is held down. Lastly another burst of 10 ones is sent. I believe this is

Code: Select all

{30.3k,512}<-1,1|1,-1>(1,-5,1023:10,-44,(1,-5,1:1,F:6,D:3,-236)+,1,-5,1023:10,-44)
Sometimes DecodeIR gets this right and gives a simple decode of Blaupunkt, but more typically it finds a prefix (the 10 ones), then the body (described as unknown), and thirdly the prefix. So the decodes are unreliable.

Thank you 3FG.

With fixed protocol I was able to generate correct remote for Device: 0, Freq: 36.5 and Duration: Normal (AN.txt). Slingbox is now sending correct codes.

As for the second remote (AN_S.txt). In RemoteMaster I have to set Device: 6 instead of 3 in order to get correct code (eg. Device: 3 OBC: 26). In RM Device: 3 is generating code with Dev: 1 and OBC: 90.
