As stated in that link, IRToWAV, creates an upgrade WAV for a UEI remote equipped with a modem. That is a different type of WAV.

That is not what you want, since you do not have a UEI remote equipped with a modem.

You want a signal WAV.

We only have two user friendly tools that create a signal WAV, IRScope and IRMaster.
IRScope only works with live captures and requires an expensive $$ IR Widget, and Tommy isn't selling IR Widgets any more, so that really isn't an option for you.

Since the last time you were here, I learned how to use Barf's IRMaster to create WAV files from Pronto HEX decodes. I found that the interface is very easy to use, when you have signals that decode. I believe you were working from IRPMaster and javaScript before. That is totally beyond what I can do. This is a two step process, you need to have proper decodes, not the decodes that you were looking at before that had the function codes reversed.

In IRMASTER
Menu->Options->Enable Components->Enable Export Panel
Drop your Pronto Hex into the window
ie the Sansui power code from that thread you had before

Click Decode
It will show you
Protocol = Nec1 Device=2, OBC = 18

At the top of the screen
Change the Protocol to Nec1 from the protocol list
Type in 2 under the D
Leave S blank
Type in 18 under the F
Select the Export tab
Change Export Format to WAVE
Click on EXPORT

You now have a Sansui Power WAV file

Of course I went to all the hassle of converting these all to pronto hex in the first place. If we have an upgrade in the file section, you can just get a list of the functions and type them in, and convert the WAV's one by one.

Achin, before I lead you down a path of finding the plans to create a widget, I want to get some idea of the scope of your project.

How many remotes do you need to capture? A few or hundreds or even thousands?

A widget is a nice IR tool to have. And if you have those types of electronics skills its great. I think the parts will run you about $50 dollars. But it doesn't build the smallest WAV file, because it captures for a set duration. Remember the WAV file I created for you. It was so big. Well it turned out I had not set the capture time for a single button, so it had 9 seconds of dead air, but still these signals may not be optimized for space.

BTW I made your WAV files in IRMaster. But you never let me know the last time if it worked or not. All you said is that it was too large, so if that didn't work then these won't either.

Let me know how these work for you. Only the Power has repeats, the rest are just single frame WAVs.

and my IR library is detecting something different, i mean one remote is sending 12 and 20 bits codes, i'll post it, can we decode that small hex code like C90 and 10B9C this one to create Pronto and then to wave file?

bummer. I wonder why not. So neither the huge power button that I did from the IRScope/Widget, nor the complete set of small IRMaster created buttons from the zip file worked.

The last person I made files for was trying to use them as MP3s and we know that didn't work.

Sony signals come in 8, 12, 15 and 20 bit lengths the first 7/8 bits are the functions, then Device and subdevice if applicable depending on the length of the signal. Note these are LSB signals just like the nec1.

Why? I've already done the WAV for the first power button, both in IRScope and IRMaster, and they don't work.

I am using the JAVA CODE with Java library of IRPMASTER as Barf given me in the http://www.harctoolbox.org site.
so i think nobody used that Java library of IRPMASTER with Java code to create the WAVE files.

Yes, but I already used the IRMaster GUI and created a complete list of Sansui codes, and as you said, they don't work!


Also you do know that you can NOT turn these into MP3's as they will never work then, even though some of the threads you had me read seemed to indicate otherwise. At least non of the Mp3 conversion tool I've seen can convert a WAV to a MP3 that will work as an IR signal.
