a buddy has a toshiba dvd model sdk-1000.
the remote is an se-r0375.
the remote died and i want to program one of my jp1 remotes to replace his remote and send it to him since he is not local.
problem is there is no file for this particular model no and there are several toshiba dvd files with close model numbers but with different codes and device numbers.
does anyone know which of the toshiba files will work for my buddy's dvd.
thanks

Hmm, when I looked at the JP1-Master-10 Spreadsheet, I only saw Nec1 69 listed for any Toshiba with SD in the model. I also found an upgrade with SDK in the model number, and that too was NEC1 69.
Chances are quite good that this SDK-1000 is a a Nec1 69 as well.

Is there CABLE where your buddy is? If he can get his hands on a Comcast remote, or an Atlas from one of the other cable companies, you could check out the Nec1 69 idea, and test various EFC;s to make sure you are working on the correct model. Use the Lookup Tool and have him set up the DVD or AUX button on Comcast, to one of the Toshiba codes that use Nec1 69 setup codes to test the theory.

There is an exact match for this model in the Harmony database, perhaps one of our harmony people can check it out.

I looked at a the Verizon FIOS remotes. They appear to be UEI remotes. They have that ugly Atlas Bulge. I then looked at the user manual for one of the FIOS Remotes and the setup codes appeared to have an offset of 27. This meant that the very first Toshsiba DVD code listed, 0530, was actually 0503 which shoots a NEC1 69 code.
So did your friend check the remote with a digital Camera/cell phone to verify that the remote is not working. It may be that the IR receiver failed. instead of the remote.

the fios remote works for the cable box and the tv.
the old time warner atlas remote worked the dvd as well i believe.
wound up finding him a replacement toshiba remote on ebay since his girlfriend has trouble enough working the atlas remotes and this makes it easier in a way for her.
thanks for the help though.
