Looking for "B" remote codes for JVC HM-DH30000U D
I found the device remote codes for the default "A" setting for the DH30000, but I have two of these VCR's and would like to be able to control both separately, which requires the "B" codes. Anyone have a device codes file with these codes? Thanks much!

1) Do you still have the original JVC remote?
2) If so, does it have the ability to send the B codes?
3) If so, do you have a learning JP1 remote?
4) If so, learn the signals and find the codes yourself.

Thanks for the info, Rob. Actually, I do read FAQ's, so the answers to the above are:The Robman wrote:1) Do you still have the original JVC remote?

1. No. (Two open-box specials without remotes. Us JP1 folks don't need 'em!
2. No. (See above)
3. Yes (Many)
4. Wish I could, but can't.
I probably looked like a newbie from this being my first post, but I've actually been using JP1 remotes for quite a while and used to frequent the Yahoo JP1 group when it was still active, though mostly as a reader and not a poster.
So, anyone who does have the remote and could get me the device codes for the "B" setting (the codes in the Yahoo "Files" section device codes file are for the "A" default), I'd be very grateful.
I downloaded the JVC VCR B codes from a CCF file at RC, but not to the computer I'm on at the moment. I'll post the answer (maybe later today, maybe tomorrow).
I half remember that the B code was a device number 16 higher than the regular code (and all OBCs the same). I'm not at all sure of that, but if you want to try before I check the answer, it should be easy to test.

The main point of my "Number 1 FAQ" thread at the top of this forum was to encourage people in your position to actually say so in your posts, as it would save us the time of having to ask the same old questions every time before moving forward.
We're totally willing to go the extra mile to help people in situations like yours, we just usually can't be bothered to help those that can't be bothered to help themselves (ie, people who have both the original remote and a JP1 learning remote, but can't be bothered to use the tools provided to answer their own question).
I don't know the answer to your "B" codes question though.

JVC VCR code A is JVC protocol, device 67
JVC VCR code B is JVC protocol, device 83
The OBC numbers are the same.
There are four JVC VCR (KM) upgrade files at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... Codes/VCR/
And one for RemoteMaster here
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... Files/VCR/
They are all for device 67. I didn't check the OBC's. But I assume they are all pretty much the same standard (JVC VCR) OBCs, so any one of them should work for your B code if you just change the device from 67 to 83.
JVC protocol, device 67 is setup code VCR/0067 built-in on many models.
JVC protocol, device 83 is setup code VCR/0008 built-in on many models.

Thanks for all the great info! I'll play around with what you've posted and see what works out. Much more fun and cheaper than paying $50 for the remote from JVC.
Sorry for the ambiguous first post, Rob. I shoulda said I didn't have the remote so you'd have known where I was at and that, though I'm an amateur, that I'm not totally rank, so to speak.
