OK, sorry about the delay. I've persuaded the remote to spit out the info you asked for with a terminal program I have. The magic numbers are:
S<K$ and 31893189
(no local echo of I & V commands set in terminal)

To avoid any confusion the raw hex values are: 53 3C 4B 24 20 33 31 38 39 33 31 38 39 10

The encapsulated processor on the PCB is marked S3F80KBXYV on the ident if that's of any help. I can post a picture of the PCB or just the JP1.4 connector if you want.
