This question is really for Unclemiltie or anybody that has studied the JP1.3 extenders.
Do JP1.3 extenders execute where they sit? Or do they swap into memory to execute the way the older eeprom extenders do?
Same with special protocols, do they execute where they sit, or do they load into memory? _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Following up on old posts today since I've been active on the extender for the RCA.
The JP1.3 extenders all execute in place. The extenders are loaded by IR into the area that was formerly used for Advance Codes (the extender moves the Advance Code area to the former learn area).
In addition, on the later versions of the JP1.3 extenders, I've used the "private" area to store all of the code for the special protocols. Then the upgrades for each of the specials is essentially the header and a JP into the real code. These too execute in place. _________________ this JP1 stuff is a sickness! |
