Trying to get codes for Westinghouse LCD TV

Hey guys, I was lucky enough this morning to Score the 40'' Westinghouse LCD from Target, but I cannot get it to work with my Radio Shack Kameleon 15-2138 Remote.
I have been trying to get the IR learning to work, but it does not seem to do the trick. Does anyone have any codes or upgrades that they know would work??
Thanks for your help!
I have the new working remote and the TV model number is Westinghouse Vr-4085DF

Hello again. Did you ever get the last TV working with this remote? There were still some responses after you seemed to give up.
There are only two Westinghouse TV codes built in to your remote
TV/0000 and TV/0451. I don't know if these would have been listed in your remote's manual. Do either of these codes give you partial control? TV/0000 uses Sony 12/15 codes, as do most of the upgrades in the file section here.
A file search and a search at urcsupport didn't turn up a match for the model. The most common Westinghouse setup is TV/0885. This code is not in your remote, but TV/0717 sends Nec1 1 signals.
setup TV/0717.
Then do a short tap of the P button followed by 1 8 5 while aiming the remote at the TV and see if the TV turns on or off.
But I'm not sure this is how to send EFCs, because your last foray into sending EFCs didn't work when I was about 90% certain that we had the correct EFCs.
If we find a working code then you can create the WAV file, but first we need to find a working code.

Howdy, Yeah I was able to get everything pretty much working the last time, I thought I had updated but must have not...
I got it to pretty much control all the stuff I needed to ( my audio receiver) There are still some commands that do not work, but they are not really important. I will test out these codes when I get home
Thanks for your help again!

I was hoping these would work, there are still one to try if you are game, BUT since the AVR codes (in your other post) didn't work when we had model specific information, I'm wondering if we have the correct EFC procedure information for this remote.
Of the "official" Westinghouse codes,
We've eliminated the Nec1 1 codes
TV/0885, TV/1282
We've eliminated the Audiovox20
TV/0451
We've eliminated the Sony12/15 1,0 and 1,164
TV/0000, TV/1577 and TV/1722
We can't test the official codes TV/0889, TV/0003 Nec1 or TV/0003 Proton2 and TV/0890 versions with EFC's,
The only one left to try via EFC's would be the TV/1092, which is not built in to your remote. To test, try this power code.
Change setup TV/0466
Tap P and then type 1 8 1 while pointing at the TV.
If that one doesn't work, the next thing to do would be build a WAV file containing the other westinghouse codes that we couldn't test via EFC.
That's a lot of work to go to when there is no guarantee that any of these work with the TV. Being LAZY, I'd probably borrow a comcast remote or an Atlas 1056 from a friend with a cable box, and do a code search to see if there is another common code that might do the trick. Those cable remotes have huge library of TV codes.
If you do go that route,
Blink back there TV setup code and write it down.
Do the code search,
Blink back the new TV setup code and write it down
Restore the TV setup code for your friend.
See the Non-JP1 forum sticky to see how to do this procedure.

We have many of threads dealing with this model, no success yet, at directv remote forums, as you can in this
thread, someone found a code where the volume command sends #4. Useless with directv UEI remotes, but with jp1 remote that accept advanced codes? maybe of some help.

Good find MaskedMan! They are definately talking UEI setup code numbers there. If we knew which setup code was sending the messed up signals, we'd have a lot more to go on. Are you a member of that community, so that you could post a question to pgrigg?

Yes, I'm Tivoburkee in that thread, I can ask in that thread, but there isn't PM service in that forum or any other way to get in touch with them.

Oh Great! If you can find out what setup code that is, and what if any of the buttons do, we can see if it matches an existing protocol, or we can start our own.

I have been looking at a lot of threads and it seems this TV is having issues with everything remote related... lol On Westingtons website they have a list of remote codes for different things and Radio shack 8 in 1 is on there, but it does nothing and it also has my dish network codes too, and those wont work for that remote either...
Sad sad... Just when I got it all working with my audio receiver...

If all else fails, you might have to send your OEM remote to one of us that has an IR Widget so we can capture the signals to see what it's really sending.
Or, you could buy an IR Widget yourself.

Nah, he needs a cable for his 15-2138 before he needs a Widget.

True, he'd need a cable to load any upgrade that we might create, but as the 15-2138 has so far been unable to learn the OEM signals, a Widget might be needed too.

Someone posted that is was code 10885 that gave the #4 when pressing the volume key.

Oh good! I'm glad that you had better success than I did. I saw the Bestbuy was selling a model Westinghouse VR-5585DFZ and model VR-3250DF so I popped a couple of learners in my purse, but when I got to store, the salesman said they just got them in for the holiday sale, but they were all in the back, they didn't have any on display yet. So I didn't have anything to learn.
Given the information from the thread, the volume + key that is sending the #4 and the number keys are probably and power will probably be
Ryan, could you check these out?
This a list of the EFC's for various keys using TV/0717
0=181
1=185
2=183
3=187
4=180
5=184
6=182
7=186
8=053
9=057
Power = 117
Change the setup to TV/0717 and
Tap P and then type 1 1 7 while pointing the remote at the TV.
Did it turn off?
