Insert wait into macro?

Hey guys, does anyone know if it's possible to insert a wait time into a macro? My TV takes about 6 seconds to turn on so the last command to it is lost because it is sent while the TV is still booting. I know I could probably insert a lot of empty key presses, but I don't want to drain down my batteries like that. Any ideas? (If it makes a difference I have the URC-10820)

There is the pause special protocol, or http://www.hifi-remote.com/ofa/faq.shtml#1.17

Hmmm... any idea why the Pause special protocol is grayed out and won't let me select it? I'll give that other fix a shot

Its grayed out because you haven't added the protocol and the calling device. Once you add the device and the protocol the option will be available for use.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, I go to special protocols, click add, choose the device and the key I want it mapped to, but it's still grayed out. Is there something on another tab I need to do first?

Never mind, I found this link

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4277

With instructions on how to do it.

Actually those instructions are out of date.

The best place to get your pause protocol is from RemoteMaster or Keymap-Master. The protocol needs to be matched to your processor.

An exception to this rule, is the RCA RCRP05B. That remote requires a different PID. Instructions for that remote can be found in the RCRP05B extender folder.

Thanks! I had been trying to get it to work for half an hour with those instructions. I have both keymaster and RM but I'm looking around and can't seem to find anywhere that would let me set up the special pause function.

Are there some instructions or a help file you could point me to?

Start RemoteMaster ( RM)

Select your Remote
Select PAUSE
Switch to the Output Tab
Copy the Device
Switch to IR
Select the Device Tab
Select [Add]
Paste

Switch back to RM
Copy the Protocol with the Copy button
Switch to IR
Select the Protocol Tab
Select [Add]
Paste

Now switch to the Special Protocols tab and Pause will be enabled

Pick a bound Device/Key.

Select the Pause from the dropdown;

Specify the length of time.

Then use the Bound key in the macro.
