I own a One For All URC 89210 B02 and a serial port cable. I haven't reprogrammed any component controls in about 3 years since I purchased it. I managed to find the program code for my Adcom GTP500II Preamp, but it seems to be oddly keyed. Some of the buttons are programmed to do the same function, and in a counter intuitive layout.

I did find a txt update for the Adcom, but I'm not sure where to place it in the IR.exe program to upload changes to the device. IR recognizes the device, but I'm not sure I have even the right program to upload this specific files. KM produces errors in Exel even after security changes.

I am usually a wiz with this stuff, but this has me confuzzled. Lil help?

Thanks!

M

I've never heard of that model remote. Do you mean the URC 8910? If so, then you have a parallel port cable, not serial. As long as your PC has a parallel port (most newer ones don't), you'll be able to update. Open the Adcom upgrade in the latest KM (or RM if you can't get KM to work), arrange the buttons to your liking, then copy/paste the output into IR. You need to review the tutorial HERE.

You need to post a link to the upgrade so we are on the same page.

I assume you used this Adcom GTP-500II preamp

Placing the functions on buttons is really a personal choice.

This TXT file opens equally well in KM and RM. In RM you must first pick the 6131 remote and then change it to the URC8910.

The TXT file is loaded into KM. What version of KM are you using? (Current version is KM 9.20) What version of Excel? This version of KM is supposed to work with Excel 97 - Excel 2010

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
