Subject: Panasonic SC-BT330 Blu-ray HTIB

1. Device: Panasonic SC-BT330
2. Type of device: Blu-ray player / HTIB
3. Year: 2009/2010
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: Comcast 1067BC3-0001-R JP 1.3
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? No
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Yes, Audio 1308 "31308"
10. Learning remote question? Unsure

Audio 1308 will control Vol +/- & mute. For hours I've entered every EFC I could find and found only two that function: "Power" 11398 & "Input" 60763. Any help in programming for video playback and other functions would be greatly appreciated!

Audio/1308 sends out a Panasonic Combo with Device 160. We have a Panasonic_SC-HT790-800-810V_--_DVD_Component for a HTIB and it has the volume buttons that use the Device 160, but all the DVD functions use Device 176. The Panasonic Blu-Ray Master also shows all the DVD functions as Device 176.

So I'd recommend trying setup code [2]0490 to see if this gives you some control over the DVD. Then we get get better control by filling in the functionality with the volume controls from [3]1308 and other controls from the HTIB DVD component.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply Vickyg2003! 20490 has added DVD playback functionality to the remote. Just needs volume and any other keys you might suggest.

To regain the volume control, you'll need to temporarily go back to setup code [3]1308 and perform keymoves. The keymoves will persist when you change back to the [2]0490 setup code.

The EFC's for your volume control for setup code [3]1308:

Volume + 60734
Volume - 60862
Mute 60790

also check to see if this EFC works on your equipment
DVD/VCR 60927

Check this post Instructions for Manual Programming 99x Commands to see how to setup a keymove.

Please note that you can set these codes up as regular keys and SHIFTED keys. That is you press [setup] prior to the key, to get to this other value.

Some EFC's that might work for code [2]0490

Get Volume from the 31308 via keymove.

I've done the keymoves (I think). Problem I have is that volume buttons become disabled (device key will not light up on AUX) when programmed to [2]0490 even after mapping the [3]1308 efc's. When AUX is programmed to [3]1308 or any [3]xxxx code, the volume function is restored as is evidenced by the AUX device key lighting up. I've tried every combination of volume lock/unlock I can come up with, all to no avail.

Perhaps I'm programming incorrectly or missing a step. I have a feeling it's something simple I've overlooked. Ideas?

I just did it by hand, to make sure it works. So now I can say you did something wrong.

Assign Advanced Code 994 - EFC (two device modes)
1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
2. TAP 9 - 9 - 4.
3. TAP the "from" DEVICE button (eg, AUX)
4. TAP the SETUP button
5. TYPE the 3 or 5 digit EFC code (eg. 60734 )
5. TAP the "to" DEVICE button (eg, AUX)
6. TAP the "to" regular button (eg, VOL+) - two Blinks

NOTE 1: To assign an advanced code to a 'shift' key, simply TAP SETUP before TAPing the key in step 6 above.
NOTE 2: Advanced codes cannot be programmed to the device buttons or the SETUP button.
NOTE 3: For 3 digit codes on a remote that expects 5 digits, add 2 zeros to the beginning of the code.

I believe that the key mapping has been successful. However, it's still just a matter of the volume group not working once I code AUX device key back to [2]0490.

It seems that AUX device key doesn't like having a [2]xxxx code in place of the [3]xxxx and causes the volume button group to lock to the TV device button. When AUX is set to use any [3]xxxx code, volume group buttons work correctly and independently for each device.

I've tried Volume lock/unlock of each device, global volume lock/unlock, ops reset, factory reset, tried 982 "device lock/unlock" on each device. Lastly, I tried to reassign the device key(s) using 992 function as this sounds like the most logical fix to me, but 992 produced 1 solid led blink from each device key indicating error.

I had Volume lock and Channel Lock turned off when I did the procedure.

Sounds like volume lock is on.

Are you getting the double blink confirmations when you do the keymoves?

I don't usually do this by hand, but did do the procedure and it IS working as advertised.

OK, try try again and.... Voila, it works!

I did factory and ops reset and did some more playing around. It appears that I had to unlock the device codes for each individual device using 982, input setup codes for each device, restore remapped keys (remapping to self) for each device using 994, manually remap volume group keys under [3]xxxx for AUX, then input [2]xxxx setup code to revert AUX to [2]0490.

I must have previously input some strange arrangement of locks and maps that were keeping me from success. Thanks so much Vickyg2003!! You've made my day.

That's one of the nice things about having a cable, you can SEE what is going on.

I'm glad you've got this working.

So, I feel like I should have run across this info already but where can I get a cable and required stuff?
