ebay link for remote
learned signals
Got one of these on ebay to use to control the computer. Pretty cheap and works as advertised.
Learned all the buttons, but ir reports the format as gap. The second ir file contains the remaining 4 keys and the mouse keys on the vcr device. Ir gave me an error saying something about too many gap values for the mouse keys.
Any help in building a protocol would be greatly appreciated.
Also, in case anyone else is interested in this remote, it works as advertised with no need for drivers, but uses the HID drivers which emulate a mouse and keyboard making it less than ideal for uses such as Girder / Eventghost, etc. I have made some progress in writing an alternate driver, and so this seems to be a very cheap and effective solution for PC control. |

2D F3 87 D0 4C«M1» ¦
2E F3 87 D0 44«M2» ¦
2F F3 87 D0 48«M3»
End
Upgrade Protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C8+) Custom Protocol for Video Acc/2000 non-name USB remote (KM v9.16)

7D 18 06 05 E6 02 D5 8D 01 46
End
It doesn't include the arrow buttons. I'd need you to try re-learning those. _________________ Rob

thanks Rob, it works perfectly. I think I'm going to ignore the mouse buttons for now as I don't think it is really suitable or needed for my purposes.
In case anyone is interested in the remote/receiver, I have uploaded my driver and EventGhost plugin here. |

There were several functions assigned to "L" and "M" buttons, so I don't know what they really are. Could you help me improve the upgrade that I created by naming these functions (and any others that might need re-naming).
Even if you don't need them, I'd still like to get the arrow buttons working, just in case the next person needs them.
Btw, is there any sort of brand name or company website listed in the user manual? I'd like to include a better link to the device as ebay links disappear after a while.
Here's the KM file for it:

And in case anyone's interested, here's the PB file:

learned mouse keys
I've uploaded a new file where I took another stab at learning the arrow keys. I tried both the press-and-hold method and the short press method. I have also included a rm file with the key names renamed.
There isn't a brand name or company mentioned anywhere. The closest I can get is the usb hardware id for the usb receiver, which is: VID_06B4&PID_1C70.
thanks Rob. |

What about the names of the buttons that you learned to the L and M buttons? _________________ Rob

I've renamed then in the rm file included in the zip (I don't have excel installed, so I can't rename in the km file) |

Here's an upgrade formatted for your Atlas which has all the arrow keys. (The diagonal keys are on INFO, GUIDE, A and C).
Upgrade Code 0 = 0F D1 (Cable/2001) no name USB remote 2 (RM v1.86)
FF 00 06 E6 00 00 0B 40 00 00 00 08 10 18 58 60
30 48
End
I have updated the original KM file with the descriptions and have added the mouse keys.
I couldn't get RM to import the KM file, so I created one from scratch:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6176
If the arrow key upgrade works, I'll load those KM and RM upgrade files also. _________________ Rob

Yes, they all work (the arrows, as well as the left/right mouse buttons and the move window key). The mouse doughnut key on the remote is actually pretty nice. Works pretty well for controlling the mouse, rather than discrete keys...
I've uploaded my rm file to the diagnosis are with all the keys and updated notes (here). Hopefully I got the new keys in there correctly.
Thanks |

yes, you're right. I didn't check the combined upgrade for the arrow keys, and they don't work.
Everything is working great now, thanks. |

I'll try to put a new upgrade tomorrow that uses 2-byte data and incorporates all the buttons, if you'll be available to try it out for me. _________________ Rob

Here's a ready-made combo upgrade for you to test using your URC-8910. In addition to the arrow buttons, I put the diagonal buttons on the MENU/GUIDE/INFO/EXIT buttons.
If it works, I'll create an RM file that you can use to program your Atlas.
Upgrade Code 0 = 8F D2 (Video Acc/2002) non-name USB combo (KM v9.16)
FE 00 FE FE FE A1 00 00 40 38 12 32 0A 1C 3C 02
14 34 0C 62 6A 1A 72 7A 42 48 59 01 09 11 19 01
61 31 49 74 64 78 54 54 6C 7C 5C 68
End
Upgrade Protocol 0 = 01 FE (S3C8+) Custom Protocol for Video Acc/2002 non-name USB combo (KM v9.16)
43 89 31 8B 13 B6 45 05 07 00 9B 01 77 00 9B 00
7D 18 06 05 E6 02 D5 05 76 06 01 6B 03 E4 05 03
8D 01 46
End _________________ Rob
