Newbie
JP1.x serial interface I built this system of Tommy N. Tyler ( Discrete Transistor Version of Serial JP1.2 / 3 (Flash) Interface).
Really very simple and inexpensive (less than 3 €).
The circuit was tested as suggested by TROUBLESHOOTING A SERIAL JP1.23 INTERFACE.pdf
PC with serial connection directly to the mainboard, XP SP3.
Remote OneForAll 7950, working perfectly.
Results Comtest:
JP1 on COM1
Signature 30293029
Memory address $ 0600
Memory size $ 1000 (4096)
Check (always as TROUBLESHOOTING etc)
Reset from DTR: + OK 1 Flash 2 Flash
Test with 9 V battery and resistance (loop): OK
Problem with the IR (IR802)
First I did a check: Interface> Check interface: OK
I think like everyone else, the first thing a beginner will be to create a backup copy of the current configuration.
-Button <Download From remote>
a) with the batteries normally used: Error -1
b) with new batteries: No error, but not progress.
I have some doubts about the resistance R3, in fact R6, mounted by 100K as by footnote added.
Here ( http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10043 ) quotes
variation, but I understood that remote control / interface
relates.
Excuse my English, blame Google translator. _________________ Bricoliere (Italy) |

Brocoliere,
I think you have done a good job following all the instructions, and your report of the test results is excellent. It is difficult to tell what the problem might be, but your concern for the value of R6 is a good place to start. I suggest you try reducing the value of R6 and see what happens. You cannot cause any damage as long as this resistor has a value of 4.7K or greater. For example, try reducing it by half, to perhaps 51K.

After changing some resistors, I remembered that the first start of IR.
I had a strange error message referring to the file 30293029 (URC-7950). Rdf.
"No data found in the signature." This indicates that the interface is not working properly (unless you have manually cleared the signature bytes ...",.
Having eliminated some few bytes, the first time I've chosen Yes.
Select NO, ... works fine.
So the issue is not quite the pattern and hardware, but rather the software.
To reproduce the problem, I deleted from the registry key UEIC, sub key is stored in a file path RDF.
In summary, I find it strange that a structure can accommodate data incongruous, and actually download from the remote control is perfect, including macros.
So I think the message misleading, or the RDF file imperfect.
Certainly there is no complete control of congruence, which may not be possible.
Surely I'm going OT, but a program that does not require installation as IR should not write in the registry. Since there is no Uninstal these keys can not be eliminated; much better than the dear, old and deprecated INI.
Thanks Tyler, your project serial works perfectly, even with 4.7K addition natural 100K.
