So, I want to use my Comcast DVR Remote to control a separate cable box. I've already activated its code into Aux such that basic functions work fine on the Comcast remote, but the volume control on the remote doesn't respond at all. I've also entered my TV's code into the TV button, whose volume control works fine. What I'm looking to accomplish is for the TV volume to work when I'm in Aux mode, such that I won't need to switch between TV and Aux each time I want to adjust the volume.

In other words, when I'm in Aux mode and use the volume control, I'd like the remote to use the volume controls that are in TV mode. I've tried without success all sorts of programming combinations with the locking functions from the manual. Any suggestions from you guys would be fantastic! Thanks a lot in advance!

"Tried all sorts" doesn't really provide us with much to determine what you have actually tried and what you have not tried.

That said, have you tried the following commands:

1. Volume Control Lock (or Volume Punchthrough) - 993 there are several different ways this works on various remotes, so I'm listing all of them below)

Traditional:
1. PRESS the device, (TV, VCR, CABLE, etc.), button - RELEASE
2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
3. PRESS 9 - 9 - 3.
4. PRESS the device key you would like the volume to come from. Two blinks.

To unlock volume control for a single device:
1. PRESS the device key you wish to unlock (AV1, AV2, etc.) - RELEASE
2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
3. PRESS 9 - 9 - 3.
4. PRESS VOL-. Four blinks.
5. Repeat 1-4 to unlock other devices.

To unlock all volume controls:
1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
2. PRESS 9 - 9 - 3.
3. PRESS VOL+. Four blinks

"New"
Volume Punch Thru 993-- lock all devices to one VPT device.
1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
2. PRESS 9 - 9 - 3. Two blinks.
3. PRESS Vol+
4. PRESS the VPT device button. Two blinks of the selected device.

To unlock volume control for all devices:
1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
2. PRESS 9 - 9 - 3. Two blinks.
3. PRESS VOL-. Four blinks.

To assign the Volume group of one device to a set of devices.
1. PRESS the device button of the desired Volume group
2. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
3. PRESS 9 - 9 - 3. Two blinks
4. PRESS each device button in the set of devices to be reassigned
5. PRESS Setup. Two blinks of the VPT device.

For example, Setup, 993, Vol+, CBL. Now pressing Vol in any device mode causes the CBL Volume command to be sent.

Next, AUD, Setup, 993, DVD, CBL, TV, Setup. Now pressing Vol while in DVD, CBL, or TV mode will send the AUD Vol commands. But in AUD or DVR mode, the Cable volume commands will be sent.

If none of that works for you, you can try

2. Keymover - 994 (to reassign the Vol+,-, and Mute buttons from TV mode to Aux mode)

1. PRESS and HOLD the SETUP button until the red LED flashes twice, then RELEASE.
2. PRESS 9 - 9 - 4.
3. PRESS the DEVICE and the FROM button
4. PRESS the DEVICE and the TO button - two Blinks

EXAMPLE: To use TV volume in the VCR mode, SETUP - 9 - 9 - 4 -TV - VOL UP - VCR- VOL UP - two blinks.
You would have to do the same process for VOL DOWN and MUTE.

I went ahead and used the "key mover" option and it worked perfectly! Thank you for all of your help!
