1. Device: Panasonic TCP54V10
2. Type of device: TV
3. Year: 2009
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC6131
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Y
6. Still have original remote? Y
7. Checked the file section? Y
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? TV/1250
9. Partially working setup code? Y TV-1250
10. Learning remote question? N
I am looking for the Discrete Input code for OTA TV (Tuner) in Hex or EFC(3) format. Also looking or the VieraCast code. The file Panasonic TH-xxPZ77U TH-xxPZ700U has all discrete inputs except for the TV input. No Viera Cast code. Anyone know either of these?

Frequently, sending a "Channel +" or "Channel -" command will work as a discrete Tuner command. have you tried this?
(and it's usually better if you provide a link to any file you reference - then somebody trying to help doesn't have to go looking for it.) _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

This file http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5083 has almost everything I need, but does not have the EFC codes for Tuner Input or for Viera Cast button.
The device code is TV-1250.
I downloaded all the Panasonic TV upgrade codes and looked for any that had TV INput or Viera Cast, but could not find them. |

Correct on the channel+/-. That switches me right to TV Tuner input. Thanks! Now, if I can just find the Viera Cast button code.... |

Guys, I have another idea. I have the remote that includes the Viera Cast button. I also have a learning remote. Is there a way I can capture the button's signals, and somehow convert that into something my URC-6131 (old) can output?
Sorry, I was really deep into all of this several years ago but have forgotten more than I learned I am afraid. By the way, Robman, it is cool to know you are still involved in this. THose 6131's I bought from you are the very best investment I have EVER made! I will cry if they ever break! |

Certainly. Is your learning remote a JP1 remote?
learn the signal, download your remote to IR, and read its info from the learned tab. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Thanks. I have an old URC-7800 learning remote. I learned the Viera Link button onto it. WOrks fine. But when I connect to IR.exe program and download, it shows Learned as "N/A" at the bottom of the page. And nowhere do I see the 1L button that I learned the signal to.
I need to do some search to see how this is done. Man, I used to be good at this stuff, but it has been way too long! |

What does it say at the top of the IR.exe window? _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Darn, you guess well. Yes, it says "7800-6800 Extender". When I force it to always ask for RDU file, 3 options show up, but all are extender. No option for non extender version.
7800ex
URC-7800 Extender
URC-7800-6800 Extender
are the 3 options.
So my guess is that I am running the extender, which removes learning. I will now search on how to remove it!! |

Removing the extender from EEPROM based remotes is easy. First, save a copy of your current IR file (so you can restore the extender later), then disconnect the remote and do a 981 reset on it. (After doing a download using IR.exe, the extender should have become de-activated, which will enable the 981 function). _________________ Rob

Thanks, guys!! I got my old 7800 working fine. And yes, there is now a 'learned' tab at the top of IR. SO now I can figure out the key I need. Once done, I will post an updated upgrade file for my Panny Plasma.
It is sad that I used to know all this stuff. How quickly one forgets. But thanks to you guys for leading me back on the path. |

Post the details of the code once you have it here also, just to close the loop. _________________ Rob

Here is the code for Viera Cast on a Panasonic TV:
Device: 1250 TV
EFC: 131
Sub Device: 9
Hex: $6F $36
Works perfectly. Be sure to use Hex, not EFC, due to the Sub Device code.
I will upload a complete Upgrade File for the Panasonic TC-P52v10 after I have added a few other functions. I think there is a Tuner Input discrete somewhere that I want to add. |
