Initial result- 8810w with ext 3.2

Just installed 3.2 + LDKP 1.3 & got my 4 blinks with new batts.
Left my original macros in place but anticipated they would require changing.
Tried them with the extender & they appear to work as before (quite surprised!)
The extender is crashing from time to time & initially I started doing a reset 981 and uploaded again. However I have left it, untouched, the last couple of times when it appeared 'dead in the water' - and after a few minutes it came alive again with all the lights on under its own volition.
Don't want to proceed further until I understand the reasons

I know you have abandoned this for version 2 but just for the heck of it check the migrated macros for any references to real device buttons Like CBL or TV etc. Replace them with X_ commands and see what happens.
I vaguely remember this being a problem with some extenders.

Is that a typo (3.1 is the latest I see available), or is there a new version I'm not aware of?

Ron will probably answer but my guess from other posts it is version 3 2K

As a;ways you are both correct - I read v3_2k as v3.2.

In view of your suggestions and the further experience I have gained with extender 2, if I try v3.1 again is there a way to copy the key moves and macros from v2 to v3 or do I have to do it the hard way and re-type the work?.

If you have the right RDF files in the right place(s) the ExtInstall program can transform a configuration from one version of an extender to another, preserving your KeyMoves, Macros, and upgrades.
It may preserve a few macros and/or upgrades that only make sense in the previous extender version. In that case, it is still usually easier to manually delete the things you didn't want, than it would have been to manually copy.
However, if one of those memory areas is nearly full, you might need to delete some things that you don't want copied before running ExtInstall, rather than waiting till after when it would be clearer what needs to be deleted, but by then it might not fit.

Thanks John - Upgraded v2 to v3 as you set out - no problem - everything appeared ok - activated ok - used a shifted macro on a device key and it worked once - THEN crash!!! again.
I really am not skilled enough to try programming as suggested in the main discussion thread on this subject. So I will just have to wait until a v3.2 comes on-line. In the meantime back to 2.4 which appears to work perfectly for me.
