P(Setup) No Longer Works after Extender Upload

I have a RS 15-134; I'm using IR8 Beta 9 with the download (Extender v1.03) referenced above. I did a 981 reset b/4 I started. I downloaded from IR and saved my Remote b/4 I started. In IR, I Merge Using ExtInstall (3B85ext-notes.hex) and saved. I then Uploaded to Remote.

After testing a while, I wanted to reset my remote. I can't seem to 981 reset (the P(Setup) will not blink twice when held). I'm not sure I setup the DeActivate keymap correctly.

I have uploaded to the Files Section / Diagnosis Area (15-134 Extender v1.03 Dectivate Question) the two above referenced IR Files and the .hex file I merged).

Thanks for any help (my remote can no longer be programmed).

To deactivate an extender, re-load the b4 image.

Edit: to avoid adding further confusion, I have removed the totally wrong info I posted here.

I wasn't paying attention to the model of remote being discussed.

I haven't yet even looked at any JP1.2 or JP1.3 extenders, so I shouldn't have tried to answer any questions about them.

Rob and John

the 15-134 is one of the JP1.3 remotes that has an extender that remains active when you take the batteries out and even if you upload a non-extended IR file (in fact uploading a non-extended IR file will really make things messy)

eemond:

To deactivate you must

Load your IR configuration into IR
Go to the keymove section
Edit the keymove that is bound to "Deactivate" and place that keymove on a real key (for example: the left arrow button for TV mode)
upload that config to the remote
press TV and then the left arrow button
you should see four blinks.

PS. The next version of this extender, currently in testing, will have a long-press setup deactivate so that whenever the extender is active, it will deactivate with a long press of setup. This will hopefully make things easier for people

Still no luck...

I'm fairly new to this and thought that the above two (2) suggestions should work, but, unfortunatley, neither allows me to program my remote. This problem happened to me on Staurday. I returned my Remote to RS ans tried the same steps this morning, with the same results (P(Setup) will not blink twice).

John, you're dating yourself. That works for non-JP1.3 extenders. AFAIK, the latest round of JP1.3 extenders all preserve their "activated" status after a battery change and have to be manually deactivated. The extender has a built-in deactivate keycode, usually programmed to a phantom button.

If you did not re-assign that deactivate function to a real button, you have to go into IR, locate the deactivate keymove, and reassign it to another button, upload the modified IR file to your remote, and then press that button to deactivate the etender.

In my case, since I never use PIP, I have the deactivate function for my Atlas OCAP Extended remote assigned to PIP button in TV device mode. It works fine.

EDIT: Note that the this post and the two preceding posts were composed simultaneously.

Still no Luck

DeActivate keymove should look like this:
Device: TV, Key: Left, Device Type: TV, Setup Code: 1800, EFC/Hex Cmd: 17092

Problem Solved.

Thanks to all who replied, and thanks to unclemiltie for his help in resolving the problem, my P(Setup) is now back.
