My bad on misreading the file. Not sure what's wrong.

Re: the EXIT button.

You have correctly programmed EFC 117 to the Exit button as part of your SAT/2004 upgrade, but you are blocking it from working because you have a keymove on the EXIT button in SAT mode. It's the first keymove in your keymove list.

Re: the FAV button.

The URC-8910 is one of the older remotes that requires special programming in order to program the FAV button. You can either use an extender, or you can use the "Fav/Scan Programmer" protocol available in the Special Protocols spreadsheet.

Re: the COM SKIP button.

You can only program this button if you use an extender.

Thanks again for helping me guys!

Rob,
SAT 2002 is assigned to AUX and controls Samsung OTA HD receiver. So if I delete the keymove button in IR.exe for 2002, should I get the exit button working for SAT 2004?
What if I create an upgrade for Samsung OTA HD receiver and use CABLE template (CABLE 2005), would it eliminate the conflict?

I will have to do some reading on extenders and fav/scan programmer. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Correct. The problem is that the keymove is programmed in SAT mode, so it's overriding the EXIT button in SAT mode. You could also just edit the keymove so that it resides in AUX mode, if that's the device that it belongs to.

The problem has nothing to do with the upgrade itself, the problem is with the keymove.

The special protocol thing for the FAV button is relatively easy, but migrating to one of the extenders will indeed require a bit of reading on your part.

Thanks Rob.
I will redo keymove for Aux (SAT 2002). So right now when I press exit in SAT 2004 mode remote sends command for SAT 2002.
Though alternatively I should be able to achieve the same result if I created upgrade for my samsung HD OTA in CABLE mode. Then AUX would be assign to CABLE and keymove wouldn't interfere with SAT 2004 upgrade.

Are there any specific threads that you recommend reading to learn spec protocol for fav/ extenders?

PS: I really like this remote control. I've tried a few touch screens in the past but preffer buttons. With this remote I never have to look at it to see what I'm doing.

I really can't tell what exactly you're not understanding here, so it's hard for me to know how to correct you, but any thoughts of re-doing the upgrade for the Samsung box just to fix this keymove are totally wrong.

You have to understand what the remote does when you press a key.

First it looks for to see if there is a macro assigned to that key. If there is a macro, it runs the macro.

If there isn't a macro assigned, then it looks for a keymove assigned to the key under the current device button (not setup code). If it finds one, it sends the signal for the keymove.

If there isn't a keymove, then it looks at the setup code associated with the device button, and checks if there is a function assigned to the key. If it finds one, it send the signal for the function.

If it doesn't find anything, it does nothing.

I think you are confusing device types with device buttons. If you want the keymove to function in AUX mode, pick AUX as the bound key device in your keymove, not SAT.
