I tried the the one below using a Philips Universal SBC RU 545 (where the magic button would be "1" and "3" pressed at the same time) but the process described below did not work. Anyone an idea on how to remove the region code on that one? Cool

When you say after "have it a go":

remove disk

Do you mean remove the hard drive of the device or any DVD inside the device?

It means just any DVD. You do understand that the hack won't work with your remote, only a UEI remote (one-for-all, etc.), right? HERE's the whole list of remotes that will likely work.
