Since nobody has chimed in yet, I'll give you what info I can. All the similar upgrades I've seen here are pretty much equivalent to the 1164 DVD code you already tried (per the avsforum thread). VCR code 1275 is also worth a try. Did you make sure you reassigned the device button to a DVD type device before trying the code? Otherwise it won't take. Have any codes you've tried even partially worked? If so, post which ones.

If you go the JP1 route and can't find a working upgrade here, then you'd learn the commands from the JVC remote and build your own device upgrade to load into your remote, then delete your learns. The process is actually fairly simple if you read the beginners threads here.

If you have a 15-2138 (assuming you transposed the model number in your post), then you need a JP1 (EEPROM) type cable with a pogo pin adapter (JP1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 won't work for you). You can build one of those yourself or buy one already made.

Found a match and recorded the IR signals with the JP1 tools to create the respective files.
