Yes I have the one revised 20 december 2008.I made it with 2N2222 transistors and it is working fine with my URC-8820 (JP1.2).
I will check my circuit carefully just to make sure everything is fine.

Why am I seeing six wires going from your interface to the remote?

I get nada: NO JP1.x COMPATIBLE REMOTE FOUND!
Again, the test is fine with my JP1.2 remote.

The sixth wire is in fact the fifth wire which is not connected anyway.
I kept it, so the flat cable stays together.

Is the Atlas fully operational except for not being able to upload/download?

Time for a recap. We have an Atlas 1056B01 that works OK except that it won't upload/download using a serial interface. We know the interface is good because it works with another remote. The jp1xtest fails with the Atlas. So apparently the Atlas can do everything a remote can except that it shows no signs of communication. Maybe the processor's transmit or receive I/O pin is faulty. Or maybe that portion of flash ROM that handles serial communications is corrupted. Does anyone know if we have experience in a situation like this before?

Yes a recap is a good idea.

1- The remote is brand new Atlas 1056B01 JP1.3 with the Time Warner Cable logo.

2-Batteries are brand new and voltage is over 3 volts.

3-Pin 5 on the remote is bent.

4-The connector is in the right way.I even added a LED in parallel to my circuit so I'm always sure it's right.

5-My circuit has work numerous time before with a JP1.2 remote.

6-I have tried many com port on diferrent PC with same results.

7-I see the cable button blink once followed by 2 blinks when I run the jp1xtest so there is some communications going on.

Still looking for a solution. I may try the IC version and report back.

Tommy,

Could it be related to the issue you ran into HERE, where receive is tied to the IR LED circuit?

It's possible that the data in the remote's ROM has been corrupted, which has been known to happen when people connect a JP1.3 remote to a cable that has pin 5 connected. If the data in the ROM that is corrupted is the data that controls the uploading and downloading from the remote, you're SOL.

If the above is the case, you should ask TW for a replacement.

Let's suppose that I have connected the remote the wrong way before bending pin 5 causing the remote to get corrupted data.

I guess we should advise others to be careful with this remote.

At this point, I'm wondering if this remote is really a JP1.3 compatible remote.

Have you tried to fully discharge the remote?

Take the batteries out, and then press any button until there is no LED flash. Then try reconnecting the remote to the cable. (Personally I'd do a 981 after the discharge, but that's going to lose your cable companies settings).

did your cable company give it to you?

If so, the 981 will have wiped out the programming for the cable box so you can take it into their repair people and tell them it doesn't work anymore and get a new one.

If not then I think you're in trouble
