I am hoping this code will run my Onkyo PR SC886 processor (they are both current year Onkyo products). However, when I try to load the Onkyo TX-SR606 remote code from the files section into RM and choose my RCA RCU810, it gives me this error message:
"The selected protocol "pid:01 7E (01 7E) is not compatible with the selected remote. This upgrade will not function correctly. Please choose a different protocol"
Here are the notes from the person who created the RM file:
"Please note that the RDF, image and map files for the remote URC-7781, needed by RemoteMaster, have been posted in the Files/RDF section.
The Onkyo TX-SR606 AV Receiver uses an NEC1 protocol with device 210, except for Volume+/- and Channel+/- for which it uses NEC2. It runs two Zones, each of which uses four different subdevices. Each Zone can be accommodated by a single 01 7E protocol. The command codes, which are two bytes, are identical for the two Zones but the fixed data differs, corresponding to the different subdevices. The first byte of the command code is the single-byte NEC command. The second byte determines the subdevice and whether it is NEC1 or NEC2. The high nybble is 0 for NEC1 and 4 for NEC2. The low nybble is 0-3 and is an index into the protocol parameter device list; 0 = subdevice is Device 1, up to 3 = subdevice is Device 4. Device 5 has no significance.
This file is Zone 1. It has been zipped together with the separate file for Zone 2. Devices 1 to 4 for Zone 2 are 17, 18, 19, 20. Note that many of the Zone 2 signals have no meaning, due to the limited nature of Zone 2, but the original remote does send them."
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Dan |

If I knew which file you were using, I might be able to re-create it and tell you the solution. _________________ Rob

This is basically a code-search post so - for maximum chance of useful reply - please supply the answers to the template:
1. Device:
2. Type of device:
3. Year:
4. JP1/UEI Remote model:
5. Do you have a JP1 cable?
6. Still have original remote?
7. Checked the file section?
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)?
9. Partially working setup code?
10. Learning remote question?
To question 7 you answer "Yes" and then below the templpate you say something like "I have tried this file for the Onkyo TX-SR606" but it didn't work. I get the error message... The notes say.... |

What you need to do is open the file protocols.ini using Notepad and look for the following section:
Code: | [pid: 01 7E]
PID=01 7E
Code.HCS08=20 15 22 47 62 CF 44 08 08 01 12 01 1A 01 12 03 4D D2 F0 11 93 08 CA 6E 02 A9 8C B6 67 A4 03 97 E6 61 B7 52 B6 67 A4 0C 44 44 97 E6 61 B7 69 4E 52 61 AD 29 0E 67 11 0C 67 09 CD FF 5F B6 A3 AA 0D B7 A3 10 A3 CC FF 5C 4E 65 62 4E 65 63 33 63 CD FF 5F 4E 69 61 AD 05 0C 67 E8 20 DD 4E 66 62 4E 66 63 33 63 81 |
Then add this to that section:
Code: | Code.S3C80=43 8B 62 8B 12 CF 44 08 08 01 18 01 06 01 18 03 39 D2 DC 11 94 08 B6 E6 10 02 68 0A 08 C6 56 C0 03 87 20 04 08 C6 56 C0 0C E0 C0 E0 C0 87 30 04 39 0C 29 04 F6 FF 5F 37 6F 0F 37 6D 06 F6 01 46 46 29 0D 46 29 01 8D 01 49 E4 08 05 E4 08 06 60 06 F6 01 46 E4 0C 04 F6 FF 5F 37 6D E6 8B DE E4 09 05 E4 09 06 60 06 AF |
