Discrete on/off, internal mute for Philips 42PF9431D/37?

4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC 6131
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes, desired codes are not on it
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Yes
10. Learning remote question? No
(I'm specifically looking for the discrete on/off and internal mute codes for this TV (if either exist, or confirmation that they don't if not), for the purpose of programming a Harmony One, but I can upload into my 6131 if necessary to have something the One can "learn" from. Thanks much!)

What is the partially working setup code that works on the 6131?

Is the "internal mute" function different than the standard "mute" function mapped to the MUTE button?

Well, I'm hoping so. The regular "mute" puts a little icon in the upper-left corner of the screen that stays there for the duration of the mute. Apparently some TV's have a second "internal mute" option, that does the same thing, but without any kind of onscreen acknowledgment. For some activities on the One, I want to kill the sound on the TV and use my stereo to provide sound instead, but I don't want that mute icon on-screen. Hence, why I am trying to find out if my TV has "internal mute", and if so, where it is.

I've found the discretes! 018 (on) and 082 (off), same as TV_0054.
So I just need to get to the bottom of this "internal mute" mystery.

You may have to just make a macro with a lot of Vol- sequences.

Yeah, I know that's an option, but that's a gawd-awful ugly option. Right now I'm just doing that by hand, but that's not why I got the One, ya know? I think I'd stick to doing it by hand before I resorted to making 37 VolumeDowns part of the "Watch TV through the stereo" activity.

Well, a lot of these TV's have a menu-selectable option to disable the internal speakers, or "select" external speakers, or something like that, presumable without the "muted" icon. . If that menu selection exists, you should be able to craft a macro that gets you to that selection with somewhat fewer than 37 steps.

True. Unfortunately, mine does not.
I found a good compromise while I wait to see if there is a better option, though: there's an up/down rocker on the One, betwen the Menu / Info / Exit / Guide buttons. Nothing I have uses that for a specific purpose, so I now have that set to control TV volume on all activities. So it's not perfect, but at least I don't have to tap over to the Devices menu to get to an easy TV volume turndown, now.
