It uses the same OEM remote as

EM48FTR,
EM55FTR &
EM65FTR

which is the JVC RMT-JR02.

This remote has some dedicated Roku keys for the included Roku stick.

OBCs & device nos. would be helpful in lieu of an upgrade.

12. If you have a OARUSB04G, URC-6440 (or similar) remote, have you tried simpleset.com? N/A

Also, IR remotes won't work on Roku sticks.

The OEM remote for this TV is IR and has Roku keys (via an HDMI/MHL port).

Have you found a code in your UEI remote that works at least some of the functions of your device, even if it's just the POWER button or the VOLUME buttons? If you have, please state what the code is (eg, DVD/0571). PLEASE include both parts of the code, eg, DVD *and* 0571. If you just say 0571 we won't know if you mean TV/0571, CBL/0571, etc). If you've found an upgrade where some buttons work, please provide a link to it for us. The more info you provide, the more likely it is that we can help. Regarding #7, it is my son's TV. He lives out of town, so I cannot experiment easily.

#8: Their model nos. jump from C-... to TV-...
EM... is nowhere to be found. (Also, how do I extract necessary info from that format?)

#9: 1774 turns it on and shows input menu, but not much else.

I was hoping that someone had a copy of the OEM remote for this series of TVs for a definitive response.

TV/1774 uses the JVC combo protocol. All of the JVC TV upgrades either use JVC dev 3, or they use the JVC combo, implying that some buttons may come from another JVC device code.

You wouldn't have to, if you find a matching file at Remote Central, the expert that is helping you would do the rest.

Newbies always think that someone here will have the exact same model of obscure device that they have, whereas most of the time the person helping doesn't have your device at all, they're just doing the hard work of checking the file section for you.

Not sure if the JVC responds to multiple protocols, but the official JVC Roku TV upgrades from UEI are Roku or NEC1 protocol. Here's a zip of 3 bin files with all the JVC TV upgrades from UEI and 2 RMDU. One is Roku TV models, another Fire TV and the other is all other models. I'd try one of the Roku TV upgrades first, which are the only RDMU in the zip file. TV2 is probably the older code more likely to work with this 10 year old TV.

Thanks. I am looking at the replacement remote, but thought I would check here, first.

Since the Roku stick is an add-on and the JVC setup powers it up, I am guessing that this remote is primarily JVC-based rather than Roku-based. If I get a working upgrade, I will add it here.

Ok, so it's not a Roku TV but an actual stick. Like I said, IR doesn't work on sticks. Whatever limited control you have now is JVC TV commands going over HDMI CEC. So look in the combo upgrades for something with matching power obc to 1774 and transport commands. That's your best hope. Or replace with an IR capable streaming device.

The PC In and Component In codes were new to us, but otherwise that matches up with all the other JVC TV upgrades that we have, so it should work. If it does work but you want even more functions, let me know and I'll create a master file upgrade for you.

Just for my education, what is a "clone remote" and how do you get one?
