Split from:

Finding more features of this remote not sure how to add to RDF
so far i have added [SpecialProtocols]
DSM=Internal:0
I also found out that this remote supports MultiMacro on practically every key
problem i have is if i use the [MultiMacros] list in the RDF i would have to list every key
if i use macrosupport=3 i also get Real time macro as an option
I tried this and just put dummy data for RealTimeMacroData so RMIR would not error out
Maybe this remote supports Real time macro too but i have no idea where the data would be. If it doesn't support RTM then how write RDF for Multimacro
Here is my test RDF

Forgot to mention
I added "ondemand " $34 to [ButtonMaps] 1,2,and 3
as long as cable device is not set to setup code 1877 the button is unlocked from the cable device and i have put multimacros on it for other devices and as far as i can tell it actuallly is in the maps and not a keymove _________________ Randy |

Is there any problem caused by the dummy data? I can't think of a better way without needing to modify RMIR, and it doesn't seem worth the effort to do so if dummy data works. _________________ Graham |

No it does not give any functional problems and I agree it's not worth wring into RMIR
The only draw back is that a person will see Real time Macro displayed when they make a macro but of course they do not work
If i make a real time macro they just disappear upon upload _________________ Randy |

It is the same as my C4000 outwardly. Are there two different internal configurations? _________________ SysTech Larry |

Yes they are two different internal configurations
Sorry for the confusion i should have started a new thread
Yes Larry i am using your version of the remote
I did not plan on working on it this much due to time limits but
now that i have i found other features to the remote
So i was only looking at what is the best solution to how to add to the RDF
without affecting RMIR
I will tell results shortly _________________ Randy |

Changes to exiting RDF
1 added special protocol dsm=0
2 added $34 to maps 1,2,3
3 added a MultiMacro list
May need refining but works
Experts needed to decide if it should replace original

Randy is talking about the 202608 (Charter OCAP C4000 URC-1060BC2).
So, these are different remotes. |
My son has one of the two. Is there a surefire way to tell them apart?
Mine is stamped "Spectrum," where his is stamped "Charter." _________________ SysTech Larry |

There are probably clues on the remote somewhere, but the one sure fire way to differentiate them is to do a download. If the name of the remote that gets displayed isn't convincing, go to the Raw Data tab where the signature is displayed. _________________ Rob

Thanks.
My sticker is not so clear. I am guessing that when I upload his contents, RMIR will decide which one it is. _________________ SysTech Larry |

Don't upload random files into remotes, always start with a download first, that will tell you what remote it is. If your saved rmir file is from a different remote (even if they look the same on the outside), you can't upload it into this remote. _________________ Rob

Thanks. (That is what I meant.)
In that exchange, I get confused about- which is the upload [from my computer?] and
- which is the download [to my computer?].

You download from the remote into the computer, then upload from the computer into the remote. _________________ Rob
