Help with RS232 or TCP

It seems to me that I had once found a group somewhat similar to this that could provide some help with RS232 control. I'm trying to help a commercial client with control of both an Emotiva XMC-2 and a Denon AVR-A1H. They need a fixed wired controller, not something handheld. That probably means an AMX system.

We got info on the Emotiva, but the programming of that seems unnecessarily complex, so we might turn to IR control, especially if we could find discrete commands for power on/off. If we can't discover discrete commands, we might couple that with a current sensing device to detect power on condition.

I've controlled many Denon products via RS-232, but so far the only info we've received on this product (yet to be acquired) is apparently a HEOS specific controller with no protocol info. I own an older Denon receiver myself and have programmed JP1 for it, so if I knew they used a similar protocol on the AVR-A1H, that would be great.

Bottom line: If anyone has experience with these two devices - or knows of an RS232 group, I'd appreciate knowing.

I think the group that I was thinking of that might be able to help is RemoteCentral. I've posted a query there, but if anybody has another suggestion, I'm all ears.

Remote Central is a very broad website with lots of different forums, so it would be hard for folks to know which forum you're talking about. It might be beneficial if you posted a link to your thread if you want folks to go check it out.

Thanks, Rob.
The forum that I posted to in Remote Central is specific to RS232 and IP Control. No response yet after 26 "reads". The product is very new and very high end at $6,500, so I'm really not surprised that I haven't gotten a response. There really isn't anything that I said there that I didn't cover here. But: https://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/m ... ad.cgi?891

I'm very surprised that Denon isn't providing any help. Their manuals are usually very good documenting their protocols.
