i found a helpful site for pioneer devices. there i found codes for my pioneer plasma pdp-427xd.
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home+Entertainment+Custom+Install

specially i searched for discrete codes for selecting the input. while the codes i found in pronto-section on remotecentral dont work.

now i have a complete ccf-file for my tv, and i have the discrete hex for the inputs. like this
0000 0068 0000 0044 0168 00b4 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 03dd 0168 00b4 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0043 0016 03dd
but IRtool lists 2 devices for that discrete code!
how can i use this with IR? or is it even easier to use the ccf with complete codes? but i dont know ho to make a upgrade from this. Sad

Read the descriptions for the various Pioneer protocols in either KM or RM.

In KM, for example, if you select the "Pioneer" protocol, you can then click on the "Protocol Help" tab which will explain the other variations of Pioneer, because having multiple device codes and command codes is totally normal for Pioneer.

puh, that was not easy to understand for a noob like me. but i hope it will work.

i just made a upgrade-file with RM, including only 3 funktions (discretes). which setup-code should i take for it?
are some number-areas free? i dont want to overwright one.
how can i see how many codes are built in my urc-39930

Pioneer makes things very difficult for us with the way they format their signals, so it's confusing for most people.

I can't help you decide which Pioneer protocol is the best fit based on one code sample as you need to be able to see all the button codes to decide which is best. Plus, I'm guessing that you already have an upgrade for your TV. If that's the case, you should link to it and we can probably evaluate how best to add this one function.

no i dont have an upgrade, only the built-in code 0196. with that i can turn tv on/off and toggle between the inputs, and some else...
but i have a complete pronto-ccf for my tv from the pioneer-site i posted (including discretes for inputs) i hope.

vicky posted i my 1st thread that someone can make a real upgrade from ccf. but i dont know how.
that would rather be me, because I would have then all codes for my tv

To save people having to figure out which ccf file you have, here's a direct link to it...

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_3424/319012436PDP4270HD_PRONTO.ccf

I don't have time to run DecodeCCF against this right now to see what codes it uses, but I expect they're the same as in most of the other Pioneer plasmas in the file section, and I would recommend the Pioneer Plasma Generic KM file in particular.

the Pioneer Plasma Generic KM file didnt work. only 2 or 3 funktions. but the pdp-5080hd file in file section works perfect! even the needed discretes-inputs!

one problem less Smile
