1. Device: Samsung QNQ800B
2. Type of device: TV
3. Year: 2022
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: None
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? No
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? Yes
11. Have you tried the JP1 Lookup Tool? No
12. If you have a OARUSB04G, URC-6440 (or similar) remote, have you tried simpleset.com? Don't have remote

I've posted the question at Remote Central too.
I'm programming a universal remote (MX-850) and have found all the codes I'd like to have except for the code to reproduce the function of the button that has a gear, then the numbers 1,2,3 and the 4 colors. This brings up a quick menu to get to the "settings" of the tv.

I have a MX-780 that I use to get newer special codes when needed as that database lists current models. However, I tried all of the options in the file (Home, Settings, Tools, Menu) and none get you to the quick menu.

Any help would be appreciated. Oh, the remote that came with the TV is RF only - no IR emitter.

My guesses are OBC 26 or 75.

How have you been here since 2009, over 13 years, and not have a JP1 remote or know how to use JP1 tools?

Anyway, the file below contains the hex codes for all 256 possible functions for your TV, then below the hex codes, I have listed what we believe that each OBC does. So you're welcome to try 26 and 75 first, or try any other codes that look interesting.

I have been around for awhile. However, I don't update equipment very often and when I do, I have tried to stay with the same brands. My last Samsung was 10-12 years old or older and certainly not very smart. This new 85" Samsung is not only a beast but has many functions. I was able to get all that I needed except this one.

Every time I've asked for assistance here, I have thought about getting a JP1 remote and try to learn the tools. But as infrequently as I would need it, I wouldn't remember how to use them.

I really do appreciate you taking the time to generate the code set. Menu (26) is a function I already had and your code for 26 works to bring up the same menu. Tools (75) was in the codes for the MX-780 but it didn't do anything. Your code for 75 also doesn't do anything. I tried a few others but none pulled up the menu at the bottom that I was looking for. It would have been a great shortcut for me.

Thanks again.

EDIT: How would the original remote (RF only) have a function that isn't hex? Does RF send hex values or something else?

You’ll have to try all 256 possibilities then.

It’s certainly possible that some RF functions don’t have an IR counterpart.

I think I found it in the Global Cache database. It's "Joypad Option":

0000 006C 0000 0022 00AD 00AD 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 06FB

Here's the RMDU file:

Here's the full codeset from GC (pronto hex is embedded in each string):

The code that Dave just posted is OBC 206 and is included in my original list as "Numeric toggle"

I had high hopes but the Joypad Option brings up a circular menu with the 4 colors at N, S, E & W. I tried several others but none bring up the shortcut menu at the bottom of the screen like the original button on the remote.

Thanks for trying. I'll work on a macro that will get me to a similar menu.

You say that you tried "several" others, but have you tried all 256 possible codes? Or at least, the ones that don't perform known functions?

I assumed the ones labeled HDMI x was for the HDMI's, and the ones labelled Digit x was for the numbers, etc. The ones that related to something that I wasn't sure what it meant were the ones I tried. Are you saying the labels for the codes on any hex file can be wrong?

It’s not a matter of right or wrong. You need to try all of them if our guesses don’t work.

Ok, give me a few days. I have to put them into the remote and then take the remote to another room to test. I have a desktop computer.

The first file that I posted had all 256 possible button codes for this particular signal, then below all that hex code I posted a list of "known" functions listed by OBC number. If you've already tried all from that 2nd list that looked like they could be possible, the next step is to try all the codes from the first list that are (so far) unaccounted for. This is how the rest of us have found secret codes. Of course, it is a lot easier with a JP1 remote, but you have to use what you have available.
