I am trying to add an ATON DLA-6 upgrade (based on the ELAN protocol) to a OFA 9910 with extender.
Unfortunately the protocol ID for ELAN is 01F8, the same as the "Custom Mode Name" protocol from the extender (01F8), which I also use. I tried a number of alternate PID for both the device upgrade and "Custom Mode Name" protocol but always end up with some conflict or feature/upgrade not functioning.
I guess the easy solution would be to change the native protocol ID for ELAN but can't figure out how to do it successfully.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you, |

Without seeing your setup, all I can suggest is that you open the RDF for your remote, look at the [Protocols] section and pick, as an Alternate PID for ELAN, any value that is not listed there as a built-in protocol. Do not try an alternate for the special protocol in the extender, as that will probably break the extender functionality. There is no benefit in changing the native protocol ID for ELAN as that would have the same effect as setting the value as an Alternate PID.
If this doesn't help, please post a .rmir file of your setup and post a link to it in this thread. Then we can look in more detail at your situation. _________________ Graham |

Thx Mathdon, I managed to get this working by changing the sequence in which I do the changes;
the original ELAN upgrade I had didn't offer an alternate protocol field and RMIR would not offer to add one. So I eventually managed to get one to appear in RMIR (without the extender) and saved it over my original upgrade with 01F7 as the alternate protocol.
Even then, when trying to add the upgrade with an "extended" RMIR, I have to "re-install" the extender ( from the "file" menu ) after adding the upgrade in order to make this work...
Anyways, some hoops and loops but eventually got it working and saved the RMIR file for good.
Thanks again. |
