I have 2 URC-1056 remotes and on one both volume and mute buttons do nothing even if programmed to, how can I test to see if I have a hardware issue or a programming issue?

I like these remotes I know I can get another one but not for free like I get the Charter/Spectrum remotes which are only 4 devices.

If it's all 3 volume buttons, I suspect a programming issue rather than a hardware issue, so your best bet is to post your *.rmir file for us to look at.

Are these remotes identical? If so, try loading the RMIR file from the good one into the bad one to see if that fixes it.

Point the remote at your cellphone camera and press a key, if you see flashes its emitting an iR command, no flash it might be faulty?

Yes I got them at the same time and both are the "Atlas OCAP URC-1056B01" model

Never even crossed my mind to upload the others file.

I keep every programming change in a different file they take up practically no drive space and I also keep them on Google Drive as well as OneDrive I only do these as I don't care if someone sees my 1000's of remote codes and upgrades!

I would think if the button works the device button LED would flash red? It does not and I see no IR LED in my camera either.

It is all 3 buttons up down & mute.
I do remember programming it many times is there a way to force the memory back to factory state other then the 900 command or is that the only ""real" way?

981 is the factory reset, but seriously, just load the good remote's rmir file into the bad remote and test it, you'll get your answer in seconds.
