Hi all,

I have an Atlas OCAP 1056B01 that I programmed years ago and I no longer have a backup of the original .ir file. I believe I loaded and activated an extender because I have macros on the device keys, but when I download from the remote the signature is 30333033 which would imply no extender.

Is it OK for me to download from the remote into RMIR, make device changes and upload back to the remote? If not, I need to identify the extender so that I can either load it into RMIR or deactivate the extender on the remote so that I can make changes.

Here is the raw download from the remote:

Thanks!!!

If there was an extender onboard, there would at least need to be an activation upgrade in there, and I don't see one. I suspect that this remote is simply one that allows macros on the device buttons.

Sorry for not being around for a long while. I suspect you have figured this out but for others this may be useful.

the Atlas OCAP extender will do two things to the remote that allows RMIR to identify it properly.

1: it changes the signature from 30333033 to 3X333X33. RMIR reads this and loads the proper RDF to describe where everything goes in the remote since the extender moves things around

2: it installs the extender version in the last couple of bytes of memory. RMIR reads this and shows the extender version in the "Raw Data" tab.

There is nothing in the remote that tells you if the remote is activated or not (that's actually a cool feature that wouldn't be all that hard to implement if someone wants to play around with the code)

But if you have a remote and want to know what version of the JP1.3 common (or pre-common) extender you have the version has always been in there and RMIR knows how to read it.
