I have 1 more update, I tried again, and saw there was some option to use the Pronto Hex!

Only thing is,..
The TV_Power need to be on device TV,
while all other buttons work on device CABLE.

Other thing that gave issues:
when I overwrite the AV or Mute button with Pronto Hex,
then the remote does not work anymore on any button.
So I guess that data-pointer for AV/Mute is incorrect????

The AV and Mute buttons are also used for ALT functions (AV button)
and to learn new signals (MUTE + TV_Power)
or to remote signals from buttons (AV + STB_Power)

Stange thing is,.. when I overwrite all the buttons except AV and Mute,
the mapping looks alright! unlike the mapping I found earlier..

Since I tested with the TV_Power button (and probably AV and MUTE)
And didn't know I had to use the CABLE device on most buttons:
I think I hit murphy's law, and it looked like nothing worked.

I'm not really following all the testing that you're trying to do as I don't think anyone has tested an RDF in this manner before.

When I downloaded your original file there was a note included stating which MCE or RC5 code was programmed to each button, so I used that list to determine the button codes, but then you said that was all wrong, so I updated the RDF.

My expectation was that you would create upgrades for your equipment and load them in using RMIR and test them to see if they work.

I think the supposably wrong button layout was because I tested with the wrong RDF. I think that when I did a new READ from the remote with corred RDF the buttons are correct.. So just some old files which I loaded.

Since I think I am confusing anyone now, and messing because I don't know what i'm doing.. Let me summarise:

What works:
- Creating learned signals for all buttons except AV and MUTE
- ...as long as TV_Power is configured as TV Device, and all other buttons as Cable device
- editing Pronto Hex (with some occasional bugs that crash the remote and a empty remote)
- [Convert to Device Upgrade] and make new Device (although it does not UPLOAD)

What doesn't work:
- editing AV and MUTE button Pronto Hex code from learned signal tab
- use Devices converted by [Convert to Device Upgrade] --> gives empty remote
- Devices are clean after new READ from remote
- Shift mode with AV-button? (the manual states something about AV-button uses alternative Left Right Up Down OK 10 sec after AV button is pressed.)

Have not tried:
- Macro's
- Key moves

Is there something that I can do to debug more?
In order to program AV and MUTE button also [and maybe devices?]
Or is this something I need to live with?

I think I am saved already, since the reason I wanted to use RMIR in the first place because;
the remote double-pressed the buttons (ch+ button = ch+, ch+, ch+ and gives 3 channels up, instead of 1)

You didn't have an RDF when you did the original file.

Are you now saying that the first RDF I created is correct, or are you saying the revised RDF that is currently loaded is correct?

Can you tell me what devices you have that you can test this remote with upgrades on, and if you have learned some signals from the OEM remote for those devices, what protocol and device codes did they use. My intention is to create some upgrades for you myself.

No, but i renamed the file for the URC-6820 to get SOMETHING out of RMIR, so that's why I had a messed up button layout, because I used the URC-6820 file to read out the URC-6810 remote, and used this file as a base later on..

I'm saying the button layout of your RDF looks fine,
but there are some issues which prevent me to change the IR code of MUTE and AV button.
Apart from changing the learned IR codes, RMIR does not seem to work like I thinkt it is supposed to work.

I have a URC-6810, which I want to use, to control a animo TV box, and a samsung/philips TV.

- I have IRscrutinizer and a arduino nano with IR reader and sender.
- I can also learn commands to the URC-6810.
- I also have the Animo an a Philips remote.
