Is there any way to track states in the XSight? I know that there was NOT as of 2015 or so, but have been out of the loop and wondered if anyone had figured it out. I have several devices that have toggle-only power functions, and keeping them all in synch is a nightmare.

Unfortunately not. List your devices, and maybe we can help you find some discretes or some alternate control strategies.

Panasonic AG-W1 VCR
Pioneer CLD-D704 Laserdisc player
Toshiba HD-A3 HD-DVD player

All are TOADs.

No offense, but do you actually still use those devices? I have a VCR, LD and HD-DVD player too, but haven't actually used them in 20 years.

In any case, Global Cache says:
- Discrete Off for the Toshiba is OBC 147
- Discrete On and Off for the Pioneer are OBC 26 and 27
- Discrete On and Off for the Panasonic are OBC 62 and 63

Having at least Off for the Toshiba, you could use Toggle for On or possibly Play (the Play trick works on Samsung).

None taken, and YES!

I have VHS recordings of stuff that is simply unavailable anywhere else (and am too cheap to pay to have them converted.) I have Criterion Laserdiscs of movies that are still unavailable in any other format. As for the HDDVD player - I still have some discs that for my money, are higher quality than the equivalent Blu-Rays, so why replace them if I can watch them just fine?

I'll check those codes, but as I recall, I have tried various ones in the past, and they simply don't work on these specific units.

I'll also go through and see if (as I seem to recall some devices have this behavior) activating "play" or "open/close" will turn any of these on, as a node for any Power ON or Power OFF macros.

Here's how I handle TOADs, in case it offers any suggestions.

I use SHIFT/device button for my start up macros and SHIFT/POWER to turn everything off. If I have discrete codes, I use discrete ON in the start up macros, and discrete OFF in the power macro. But for the devices that don't have discretes, I use their POWER button in the start up macro (just assuming they were off to start with), and the first step in the POWER macro is a generic press of POWER, the idea being that it will turn off the device that you are currently using, regardless of whether there is also a discrete OFF in the macro for that device.

This works well if you typically just do one thing in a sitting, like you fire up the system to watch a DVD and then turn it off when you're done. It won't work so well if you typically start with a DVD, then switch to the VHS, then switch to something else, etc.
