Hello all,

Anyone knows if a .bin is available for the remote associated with 4k pro Android tv box ?

Or, is a "generic" universal android tv box remote can be bought online which as a .bin file available on jp1 for it ?

For a slingbox 350.

Thank you for any help or recommendations !

Do you have a brand or model number for your Android box? Or do you at least have a link for the place where you bought it?

That really is generic. I see 2 generic upgrades in the media players folder:

Do you know how to convert updates into bin files? Here's the wiki.

That wiki is very very useful.

So i installed java on win10.

Dloaded remote master.

Opened the .rmdu android remote file.

Went throught all menu items.

It is a basic slingbox remote. (it seems ok to me, just want to on/off and change channels)

But... the export (to .bin) in advanced is not available. I just can't export it.

Any suggestions ?

Do you have one of the Slingoxes (PL or RV) selected as the remote?

Howdy !

So i opened both .rmdu files in remote master.

I exported to slingbox remote .bin files (PL and RV bin) and uploaded to slingbox and tried them once at a time each. I wanted to try both types, just in case.

I did not modify anything (input, layout, keys...).

On Slingbox i tried custom cable tv box or sat remote (wiki instructed not to use DVC or miscelaneous).

The remote sends data to the android box, but it pauses for a second and that's it. Can't change channel or anything else.

Any suggestions or advice ?

Your Slingbox should only have accepted one of the types (ie, PL or RV), it wouldn't have accepted both of them. So what happened, was one type rejected?

The RMDU files have a device type and setup code in them, typically we change the device type to either Cable or Sat and then we change the setup code to something like 2000 or 2010, before creating the bin files.

So let's say you create a bin file called C2010_PL.bin after setting the RMDU file to CBL/2010, when you go into the Slingbox software, you will want to specifically load C2010_PL.bin in order to test it.

http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.php/How_to_Install_a_Custom_Remote_onto_the_Slingbox#Installing_a_Remote_BIN_file_on_the_Slingbox_350.2F500_.28SlingTV.29

Is that what you did? If you followed the instructions properly, then it just means that those 2 codes are not a match. If that's the case, then we need to capture the real codes from your STB remote control. To do that, you should buy an OARUSB04G remote from Amazon for $18. This is a learning remote and it comes with its own USB cable that you can use with JP1. All I'll need you to do is use the remote to learn the signals from your STB remote, then download the memory and send me the file, from that I can create a bin file for you.

1. select Manuals and documentation
2. URC6440 Manual All Languages
3. the section that covers learning is called "Copy"

I would prefer a .RMIR file, but if you don't know how to produce that, settings.bin will do. Please post it in the Diagnosis Folder of our file section, and then post a link to it here to save me having to search for it.

This is the link :

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=25994

I opened the .bin in rmir and saved it as .rmir file. But I thought there must be more to it than just that...

So i just uploaded the .bin file unmodified to let you look at it and if you will, convert it.

Thanks again for your help.
