|

I don't want to necropost, so I'm opening a new thread.
I have a new SILVERSTONE SST-ML02B-MXR Milo case for my new HTPC build. It has an iMON-PAD remote and I plan to use it with my URC-8210 remote instead of the original.
I have read both threads regarding this remote:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4626
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8626
I have downloaded two upgrades for the iMON-PAD remote, one original UEI (iMon-Pad_UEI.txt) and one from "The Robman" (iMon-Pad_KM4.txt).
The iMon-Pad_KM4.txt has protocol code for HCS08 but is missing up, down, left, right keys.
The iMon-Pad_UEI.txt has up, down, left, right keys but is missíng protocol code for the HCS08.
The Robman wrote: "I just re-configured the file as a KM file, if you open it using KM rather than RM it will change the protocol code for you."
I opened the file iMon-Pad_UEI.txt in keymap-master-v9.22, changed the remote to URC-8206 and the HCS08 Protocol Code window is empty. When I change back to a remote with S3C8+, the Protocol Code is back.
What I'm doing wrong?
Is there another way? |

To save folks having to search for the files, here are links:

That quote was in reply to someone who wanted to use this with a URC-7800 remote, which uses a slightly older version of the S3C8 protocol. KM would adjust the S3C8 protocol to work for his remote. However, you are looking for it to switch to an HCS08 protocol, which it doesn't include.
Anyway, this took a bit of fiddling because it's been 13 years since I wrote this executor, but I think I managed to derive the correct codes for my upgrade from the official one. I have converted it to an RMDU file and have loaded it here:

Thank you very very much.
As I understand from the old threads, you did all the "heavy lifting".
Next time I'll post direct links to the mentioned files ...
I'll test the upgrade and report back. |

I tried the upgrade and it doesn't work, at all.
The remote is sending signals but the receiver doesn't recognize them.
I'm using LibreELEC 9.2.2 on my HTPC and I was watching the debug log.
I didn't want to give up so early, so started testing following this LE wkiki article: https://wiki.libreelec.tv/infrared_remotes
ir-keytable gave me this
Code: |
Found /sys/class/rc/rc0/ (/dev/input/event9) with:
Name: iMON Remote (15c2:0038)
Driver: imon, table: rc-imon-pad
lirc device: /dev/lirc0
Supported protocols: rc-6 imon
Enabled protocols: imon
bus: 3, vendor/product: 15c2:0038, version: 0x0003
Repeat delay = 500 ms, repeat period = 125 ms
|
I tried to switch the protocol to rc-6 and it works with a generic MCE remote. Even the Power key works in the rc-6 mode, even for power on until I switch the PSU off, then only the iMON remote works for power on.
I guess the firmware in the receiver is able to switch protocols and remember it as long as it has (standby) power.
But there is another problem, I get double cklicks on some keys, for instance Mute, Play, Pause, other keys are working fine (for instance Up, Down, Left Right).
By double cklicks I mean, when I press for instance Mute, it gets Muted and instantly un Muted. The only way around is holding the key a little longer but it's hit or miss.
It is the same with the MCE remote and with the upgrade I created for my URC-8210, here is the upgrade I used: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13026
Any ideas how to fix it (the double cklicks)? |

All I did was add the missing codes, that shouldn't have broken the whole thing. So, I went back to your original post where you gave the impression that the upgrade worked but was just missing the arrow buttons and I find that you never actually said that it works, which now leads me to believe that you never actually tried it, is that true? _________________ Rob

Yes, it is true.
I didn't try it, I just assumed it works ... |
