Macro problem

Post by pa911 »

Actually I thought it would be quite easy but somehow I dont get it.....

Like many I like to use the Power key to turn on/off two devices in SAT mode.
cond time turns it off - no need to press "PPV" in between.

I am really lost - please help

The TV turns on ONLY if I have not turned it off with the "Power" macro - or vice versa. Pressing "Power" the second time does not do anything to the TV. When I press the "PPV" key in between - the "Power" works on the TV again.

When I press "PPV" separately - everything works fine ( but I have to press it two times?)
I'm pretty sure that has to do with the toggle bit in the RC-5 protocol that your TV uses. However, I'm not sure how that's handled in a macro when in another device mode (i.e. SAT).

This is just a WAG (wild assed guess) but try adding a meaningless step inbetween the buttons in the macro. By "meaningless step", I mean include a press of a button that does send an IR signal but doesn't do anything that matters (like an EXIT button or something like that).

I'm not promising that it'll work, but sometimes with macros you have to experiment a little to make them work.

Now I understand - Yes there is really a problem with this toggle bit - I saw it in the T=0/T=1.

This causes a really strange behaviour - Why does it work on a key incl. key move but not in a macro?

Is there a solution to that? Or do I have to give up since its a RC5????

Please advice!
