In looking at the various RMIR and similar files in the File Section, there does not appear to be a listing for MyDVR using the newer Comcast XMP code (usually listed as X1, but some non-X1 also use it) (built-in code 1982 on some remotes.) I think there actually is a code, as an RCPRP05 will send a code my Motorola DCX understands. I'm trying to find the code for that.

I used an older URC-10820N to learn the code from the RCA. It turns out I had once put an extender in that remote. I did a factory reset, but when I try to download into RMIR, it says there may be something wrong, and the learned code does not show up. I'm guessing the extender messed something up that the factory reset didn't clear. I put a copy of the raw download here:

You are correct that the previous extender upgrades are messing things up, so I suspect that you didn't do a full 981 factory reset on this remote. I was able to open the file by manually zeroing out the upgrades (ie, enter "EE 04 EE 04 00" at address EE00). Now I can see the one learned signal, on the CBL L1 button, which shows XMP-1, dev 62, sub 16, OBC 84.

We have several upgrades that use that protocol, here's a randomly picked one:

Thanks. I had done a 980 reset, not the full 981. That fixed the download error.

As for upgrades, I did download all of the obvious ones I could find, but none list MyDVR as a code. I don't think X1 supports that code, but it should work with non-X1 Comcast boxes.

Are you saying that none of the upgrades worked, or just that they didn't look like they would work? The upgrade that I linked to is called "X1" and matches the learned signal that you posted.

And anytime that you want to clear out an extender, please do a 981 reset.

There's no reason Rob's file wouldn't work since it's an exact match.

But at least now you can tell us the setup code from your RCA and we can find other matches if necessary.

He kind of said that, but then why is he still searching for a code if he already knew the answer?

The code he said worked and that he learned doesn't actually work? And there is a (different?) working code on his RCA, but he doesn't know what it is? I'm very confused about what works and doesn't work and what we're even looking for.

EDIT: I figured it out! "MyDVR" threw me for a loop. I thought he literally meant "my DVR". Turns out that's the name of a button on his remote, and he only needs that one function.

So try OBC 84 from this upgrade:

Seriously, he was just looking for one button?

Yeah, that's what we get for not using the code search template Wink, a game of 20 questions and mass confusion, said the preacher to the choir.

I thought MyDVR was a brand or model number! Smile

Anyway, I have created a new master file upgrade which contains all of the functions that I could find in all of the other files that use XMP 62.16

I found an older Comcast silver remote (URC-1067). I was playing around with it, but noticed that although it had code 1982, some of the keys were not mapped. Exit and MyDVR were the two that didn't work.

Andy, give that last upgrade file that I posted a try, it's got every button code that I could find from all the other upgrade files, including MyDVR.

Between that and what I got from a few learned codes on the 10820, I was able to add the missing codes to it. I don't have X1 yet, but my legacy DCX supports XMP. Other than the 30-sec skip, XMP seems to have everything the Motorola 1376 code has.
I assume X1 probably doesn't support some codes, like MyDVR, or possibly even true pause. On legacy iGuide, once paused, hitting true pause will advance one frame at a time.

Which learned codes? I don't see anything in your upgrade that's not already in Rob's.

That file was posted after I had already found the codes through learning from another remote. All of the other X1/XMP files I could find just seemed to be based on then current X1 remotes, which have fewer buttons.
