Can you estimate how long the signal is on for with the 15 value? Is it like 2 or 3 seconds?

In case you're interested in the methodology that I used to create this upgrade, I basically modeled it after the code used in the "Zenith Pause Trick". Somewhere along the line, we discovered that if you press the RECORD button using the VCR/0039 setup code, the button would stay on for a long time, so we used this to create delays in macros. And what the Zenith (PID 0022) executor does is load hex 15 into R0D when the button pressed is RECORD.

I entered decimal 15 in your upgrade, which is a bit shorter than hex 15 (decimal 21) but it's the same idea.

Yes i thought i read something about that awhile back
i also downloaded your 5a-commented and other NEC info you have on here

Now that i have played with it here is the situation
The tv when hold the normal vol - or + it jumps one notch pauses
then continiues after this pause
so your helper works but lets say i start out at vol 20
after a few pushes of vol- and vol + the vol will no longer return to 20
it might be lower or higher due to this pause
It is not your helper's fault but the way the tv has this built in pause
I don't want you to goto anymore work
Just wondering if you have any simple ideas maybe a macro to conteract this pause I tryed a macro of mute,vol- and it helps a little

Recent purchase of int-422 addded jp1.3 extender v 3.05 to use lkp
It works great for mute just wondering if i did this right or if there is a more efficiant way of doing it.
Hoping The Robman can have a look. I definately like the work you did on the Samsung Helper file

So...
  • TV/2000 is the helper upgrade
  • A/Phantom1 is a keymove for VOL- from TV/2000
  • A/Shift-Phantom1 is a keymove for VOL+ from TV/2000
But I don't see these two Phantom keymoves used in any macros, so I can't see how you're using them?

Ah, I see it now. One quick change I would recommend is to add the shifted phantom1 rather than doing a 2-step macro of setup and phantom.

Another option, rather than using LKP, would be to setup a toadtog so that each press of MUTE would alternate between phantom1 and shift-phantom1.

Sorry, I must have missed this post before. Off the top of my head, you could create a second copy of the helper upgrade with a number much larger than 15 as the repeat count, then use it to turn the volume down to 0, then use the regular helper upgrade to turn it up to 20. But this will take several seconds to run, which might not be convenient.

Or, if you notice the volume is at a level other than 20, you could manually bring it back to 20 before using the MUTE button.

Or, you could try to avoid using the regular VOL buttons! Smile
