Something to Laugh at

Post by HamburgerHelper1 »

Since I work in an electronic recycling shop I am always on the lookout for Jp1 remotes, and I have found several this way.
So this last one looked in good shape and I set it aside to check out later. When I finally had time to look at it i is a comcast
Yes the dreaded urc-1057bco The only Jp 1.1 made.
I was going to recyclce the board but maybe someday i will make the transistor interface for it That is when I a really have nothing else to do.
Surprising that such a remote can still be found huh
Oh well laugh as you may i still have another jp1 remote to add to the colection

When I bring my junk to the electronics recycling depot here, I see lots of interesting things. I will bet most of it still works 100%!

The guys that work there "police" the electronics section very seriously. Nobody is allowed to take anything, you can't even buy anything (I tried to bribe the guy once, it backfired). When you drive up to the electronic section, they come running after your car to make sure you don't drop off something that doesn't belong, or take something you shouldn't be taking.

Recently they added surveillance cameras.

Years ago I lived in a rural area. The electronics section didn't have the selection the city I am in now has, but you could just take whatever you need.

I kept my stove running for about 22 years until the wife demanded a new one for the new house. The new stove is totally digital and is mostly problematic!
