also in the other program, i dont see 7935 in the drop down menu. does this mean i need the appropriate RDF?

I just dug my Streamer remote out to see which pin was which and I can confirm that the #1 pin is in the bottom left corner (with the notch on the right).

However, I found that only my genuine FTDI cable worked with it, my Prolific cable did not. The prolific cable got the "no remotes" message.

Can you show me which Wiki page points to an older release of RMIR please?

Can you show me which link you're talking about, just so I can make sure there aren't any out of date versions anywhere.

http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.php/JP1_-_Just_How_Easy_Is_It%3F#What_Equipment_Do_I_Need.3F

it's the link to download RMIR, BEFORE sourceforge. which goes to
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=13325
then
https://sourceforge.net/projects/controlremote/files/RemoteMaster/v2.04build14/

Hello

I have ordered Streamer Remote to be able to control Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 amplifier (it does not come with remote).
From what I understood so far, I need a:
- "6PIN 5V FTDI FT232RL FT232 USB to TTL RS232 Serial Download Adapter Connector Cable"
- win10 drivers
- latest RMIR

and then I can reconfigure the remote and upload necessary codes recognised by Lyngdorf.
Lyngdorf provides NEC1 IR codes list as below:

Code:

IR Codes / TDAI-1120

A friendly soul Barf from remotecentral.com forum provided me with solution as quoted:

Quote:
It is not clear what the manufacturer means by

Volume Up: 0x10EF, 0x1AE5

namely how this transforms to the NEC parameters. Let's guess that this means that (notation as per above) D=0x10, S=0xEF,F=0x1A.

I hand edited the command list for this , and imported in IrScrutinizer. IrScrutinizer does not compute EFC and EFC5, since there is another program that does this, RMDU [Link: sourceforge.net] . That program is very useful for programming remotes like your URC-7935. So I exported the data from IrScutinizer as a Girr file [Link: harctoolbox.org], and loaded it into RMIR. This, this among other things, computes EFC5s. The resulting file is this one: [Link: harctoolbox.org]. But is can also download the whole shebang into the remote. For more information on RMIR, see the JP1-forum [Link: hifi-remote.com]

In result, he translated the codes and generated a .rmdu file for me which should work with Streamer Remote.

Now, please confirm - do I need only upload that file to the remote via a cable and latest RMDU and it will work or do I need to do also something else along the way?

I kindly ask experienced users for help.

I have created an RMDU file for the Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 amplifier here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=26194

Keep in mind that the URC-7935 has very few buttons, so for it to be really useful you would need to assign something to the 4 channel buttons (Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and YouTube). The codeset that you provided has many discrete input codes, so you would need to decide which 4 of those are the most useful to you, then you would need to assign them to the 4 channel buttons in RMIR yourself before loading it into the remote.

Thank you very much, really appreciated!
I have chosen the streamer exactly for it's smaller size and less buttons, hoping I could just program important ones for me like PowerOn, Volume, Input - for more options I will still have either android/ios app or local web configuration panel.

I will report back when I will receive the cable and will upload your data.

So if the pins are located as below (looking from above, notch on the right)

246
***
***
135

Then I should be connecting from the board like:

1 none
3 GND
5 none

2 RTS
4 TXD
6 RXD

Is that way correct?
Sorry for the lame posts, first time fiddling with IR remotes...

I have a problem. It is like the remote is in read-only mode for me.

I do the following:

1. Open RMIR, then Download from attached remote.
2. Switch to Devices tab where I have:

3. I click Edit on the device that is listed on the screenshot, then I open and load the file you provided, it is infact mapping some of the remote buttons and I add my own buttons, then I click OK to close the window.

Now I have a Lyngdorf TDAI1120 name in the description so it has loaded.

Then I click Upload to the attached remote, confirm in the pop up Upload to the remote.

When I disconnect the remote it does not work and when I recconect it to RMIR it is like the changes from the file you provided has not been uploaded at all.

What am I doing wrong here? I have RemoteMaster wiki opened but I think I am missing something.

I want to overwrite the Streamer remote with the file you provided so it's only function is to control the amplifier.

You could have a million devices in the Devices tab, but they won't do anything until you assign them on the General tab.

Also realize the Streamer remote is extremely limited. I don't think all the buttons you assigned will work, maybe just Vol and Mute if you assign to the Audio device. The button groups behave according to the Activities tab. I think you have to perform a sequence on the remote itself to change this. See the manual for details.

Post your RMIR file, and I'll fix it. It would be easier for me to fix it and you look at what I did than to explain here.

EDIT: I see below that Rob did exactly what I would have done. I use the same trick (3 identical devices assigned to all three devices on the General tab) on my Streamer remotes.

Try this file to see if it works, if it does, feel free to customize the button layout as you see fit.

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=26201

Keep in mind that this remote doesn't have any device buttons, so I have added the upgrade 3 times and assigned it to each of the 3 device modes. The Streamer upgrade is the one that will give you the most working buttons.
